so heres the problem im working on .installing 90.000 sqft of solid surface a year and would like to recruit qualified people at good wages and  be  able to use festool
use all the festools we have also this would mean relocating your family. how would you do this
thanks
Lance

Relocating YOUR family or the family of those you're trying to recruit?

recruits to the puget sound area for example you can make 18 to 25 per hour or 5 to 7 a sqft  a good installer should be able to install 100 to 200 sqft a day so if you do the math thats at the top 250 a day hourly or 700 to 1400 a day as a sub

So it sounds like your recruits would be moving.

Honestly for that wage rate I think a single guy or newly wed would have no problem moving.  Especially if he could start hourly for the first year and then build a Sub business off the knowledge and acquire equipment.  The key is to find someone who is motivated and doesnt get bored from production work....Thats the hard part.  The incentive for ones own business for the first 3 years will be plenty motivation but the work will have to get more technical for the right guy.

And were talking Solid Surface counters?  Granite, Marble, quartz........

If your doing counters Festool only isnt the best method.

That is a lot of solid surface. Solid surface is dead around here, no one wants it. They either use high end laminate or quartz.

yes solid surface and hourly would be to start and as for production this is a new job site daily and a helper with every installer i want family oriented people
they stay around longer these positions can gross 60k a year to start thats a great opportunity for any age individual

yes and as for plam and granite or quartz you can double that footage.stone installers will have available positions soon.most of this work is 3cm
so a young mans game

Honestly your best bet is to steal other Installers.  You wont have to do much training and they will be happy with the work since most areas dont have much Solid surface work.

When I mean "steal other Installers" I'm talking about installers from other cities and states.  I live in Idaho and can tell you from experience that that guys here aren't getting more than 30-40 thousand a year at best.....and thats an experienced guy.
