Hey guys

I make my living shooting pictures (advertising photograhy). Just so that i can afford the festools :)
Anyways a friend of mine  bought a Milwaukee combo with a drill and an impact driver. Since i had never photographed power tools before and his
Milwaukee was brand new, i loaned it for a bit to see if i could make it into a desirable object.

Here is the shot, any feedback is welcome. Just like to hear your thoughts. Of course if Festool would supply some tools i would be happy to have a go at
shooting their "portraits".

I like it! Both the photo and the tool, I own a few and they have been fantastic for me.

With work of that quality you should be able to afford quite a few Festools. [thumbs up] [thumbs up]

Very nice, maybe try it without the starburst effect, I think that part is a bit overdone.

I'd have been more impressed if you had found a Festool to photograph when posting on a Festool specific forum to be honest.

Just my 2c.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.  :)

@JeffZanin: I liked the light effect but maybe you're right i might try it a little dimmer

@neilc: Camera is a canon 5D III. It's a matter of careful lighting and a lot of patience. Thanks for the link

@CharlesWilson: Of course there is photoshop involved, but if you light it correctly then post processing is mostly cleaning up blemishes, color correction some dodge and burn etc.

@Kev: I knew that was comming  [laughing]  I'll make another one with a Festool somewhere next week

Hi Johne,

I have just returned from 3 fantastic weeks in the Netherlands - partly work (video making) and partly fun (cycling). I love the photograph and now you should do some Festool shots.

I get a small income from my photographic work too.

I read the title and my dyslexia kicked in.. I read Tool Pornography  [eek] I though in for a penny, in for a pound.  [big grin] After seeing the photo, I think I wasn't too far from the mark the first time!!!

Very nice photo, I really like the composition, which I think sells/promotes the tool in a very effective manner, if it was Festool I might even be interested  [tongue]

@ Peter Parfitt: Great that you enjoyed your time over here. I'll do a Festool shot soon. I like your videos, keep them comming.

@ Alli:  [laughing] Tool pron, might be a an unexplored niche market. Interesting exercise to see if i can personify an object instead of objectifiying a person.  ;)

What I really was wondering was how much time in photoshop was required to obtain that image.
