Topic locking behaviour on this site.

Back on topic...

Kev, I just went back to that thread to refresh my memory. I was the one that locked it and it's because one of our forum guidelines is that we don't allow political discussions, which can obviously get very opinionated and turn ugly very quickly. This is a woodworking/tool forum. If you want to discuss political matters, there are plenty of political forums on the internet. I'm sorry if you don't agree with that forum rule or the way the thread was moderated, but I think our forum guidelines have served us well in creating an international online community that is a pleasant place for our members to visit. I think if you spend some time here, you'll agree.

I think "no politics" is a good rule.  I've seen other woodworking boards go to H*** in a handbasket when things turned political.

I'm saying this as one of the posters in that thread.  Shane did the right thing.  Thanks Shane.

We have to take into account that Kev is reading upside down. Just look at a map  [scratch chin] [poke]
Oops! that's not political.
Geographical  [huh]
Tinker
PS  i really can't help it, i have double vision [eek] and I'm left handed [unsure]

I think this policy is right for a vendor forum and the way you implement is very reasonable. Thanks.
