Trimming saw and CTL MIDI together?

I have the CTL MIDI, witch is good my needs on site.
My associate has the Trimming saw.

For the most part all of our tools are loaded in the car and there is (almost) nothing left in the shop. Exept for the saw.
When my associate is away for work and I wan´t to use the saw, there is no dust extraction, since he of course has his dust extractor with him.

And I can´t hook up the MIDI and the saw, there is no room for the hoose. I know that the MIDI probably are to small for the job, but I usually just do small cuts, and it should be fine.

Is these some adapter och extension so I can hook these two together? Or do I have to make my own?

(Probably has to excuse my second rate english, but its not my first language).

Many thanks

Stefan

what do you consider a cut off saw. is it a small chop saw. if so what dc port is on it.

Tango Xray (TX),

All sizes of Festool CT dust extractors use the same hoses. The end connecting to the CT is the same size.

Personally I always use the 36mm Anti Static (AS) hose on saws. That tool end goes over the DC port on the TS saws. The tool end of the 27mm AS hose goes inside the DC port of the TS saw.

Many of my trusted friends own Mini and Midi CT. They use those not only with Festool TS saws, but also with chop or miter saws. The Kapex will accept a 27mm hose inside its dust port. However the 36mm hose on the outside of the dust port is highly recommended for the Kapex. Besides my several Kapex I also own a 10" (250mm) Hitachi miter saw. I needed to modify an adapter so the 36mm AS hose would fit the Hitachi saw. Friends of mine have often used that Hitachi saw with a 36mm AS hose and their personal Mini or Midi CT.

Hello you can buy the hose fittings and hose by the metre I sudjest you buy the correct fitting (Right angle) for your midi and connect to a metre of hose with  the correct end fitting to connect to the hose you have a link to.

Stefan, for this you'll need to make little hose extension. You can do that by buying 1 meter of 50 mm hose and two of the same vac-end connectors. And finally, you need and extension tube to connect the Y piece of the CS50 to the little extension hose. That extension tube can also be bought from Festool. I think together it would cost me around 120 euro over here to get the 4 parts, so you have a cost indication.

In the past, before the days of the new Festool site I would have given you the part numbers right away, but in all wisdom, Festool decided not to show them anymore on the new website. So you'll have to get to your dealer to get all the needed parts sorted. Sometimes, this can be a painful process.

For 120 euros it sounds lite a little priced solution. Probably can get a specially made piece in a machine shop for half that. At the most. I will have a look around and report back when I come up with an solution.

Yup, expensive for sure. But that's Festool for ya.

Btw, I have the CS70 and both the Mini and the CT26 and I wouldn't use the Mini for it. I used it once with a makeshift solution out of carton and tape to get the CS70 hose to fit, but suction was just too low to be of any real use. Could have saved me the trouble. The suction of the Mini is already lower than that for the 26 but when you split it in two as with the CS70 hose then it becomes uncomfortably low.

To be honest, I'm not even that satisfied with the CT26 in this case. The 26 is good with one tool connected, but with the y-splitted hose the result is just so-so and a lot of dust still escapes.
