Trion. I can see!

Mike,

I forgot to mention that.  I modified the DIY with:

You want an interference fit so that you can press the LED in the hole and it'll stay there until you decide to remove it.  The LED does not get hot.

Hey Bill, Thank you ever so much for the description of the process as it was quite enlightening. :D ;D ;) Truly, thank you, Fred

Hello
Bought one of these Dremel lights to light up....flexable and robust. I used velcro to attach so it is easy to remove...

Dremel DREMELite DL4 DREMELite
High-intensity LED light with lifetime warranty.
DREMELite with unique, highly flexible shaft.
Quick and easy way to light up your work surface.
Ideal for hard-to-reach, dim places and/or precise detailed work.
Easy-to-use twist On/Off switch.
Works with standard Lithium batteries.

Hi,

Could you post a pic of how you attach it to the router or other tools?

Seth

Nice solution.  I think that is the one thing festool really missed on adding LED.  I personally grab some of my other brand tools just because it has led's in it especally when I am working in a dark area.

An LED on the end of the plug it cords would also be nice I have several laying around on extension cords and never really sure they have power or not.

Great idea.  I assume that the vacs when set to Auto put a small voltage on the outlet, enough to detect continuity.  I hope this would be enough to trigger the LED.

Ned, yes there is voltage present. I found an old heavy duty 3 outlet "Y" extension cord and use it on my boom arm. When the CT22 is set to auto there is a light in my extension cord's see-thru head that glows; useful as it allows you to know the status of the power tool/CT combo from a distance.

I tried the Dremel Led-light, but the one i bought refused and had only a weak light. When i pushed the batteries it was a little bit better so i brought it back to the DIY-shop. Today i visited the bras-shop because i needed something for my alt-sax. In the shop they also sell Mighty Brighty LED-lightning to clip on books or sheet music.
I bought one with two led-lamps in the head and it works fine(extraflex superled). It has a lot more power en is smart and flexibel as well. It also uses rechargable or cheap AAA batteries.
They sell a lot of different types ( http://www.mightybright.com ). I think i put the Duet 2 on my routers (switch the light by using selfsticking velcro) so i also have i good light using the router on the dovetail jig or when making stopped dadoes. For you living in the US it will be a lot easier to buy these in the online shop.
