I was in Rocklers today picking up some hardware and i noticed that they have a display of a modular system from Triton . Very simular to festool a work table the top pops off and a table saw put in same with a router table and a pull saw.
It looks nice however its definately a DIY system. One thing I did notice is the Table saw had its own motor unlike Festools which use either a TS 55 /TS75. The blade guard was american style with a splitter and anti kick back pawls. But it is a well thought out blade guard.
The reason I said it looks DIY is bc there is a lot of plastic on these tools.
Of course they are relatively inexpensive compared to Festools to. Look at the saw only real difference I can see is that the saw has its own motor, and the anti kick back pawls on the blade guard and it has a NA style fence.
I wonder if Festool made some slight changes to the CMS , the saw blade guard and added a regular fence like the one they sell as a accessory (prescio 50's fence) it could be sold in NA.
