The cover on my TS-55 broke. Is this covered by the warranty?

Thanks,
Anthony

So you dropped it and it landed on the splinter guard, sure it's covered by the warranty... [blink]  all joking aside, I doubt it's covered, you'll have to call Festool and see what they say.  I'd have my credit card handy to be ready to pay for a new cover.

Always good to get people's opinions. But as Brice said, that's not something that just breaks on its own. What you do to the saw is not covered. Logically.

Did the the same thing to mine. I just pushed it back flat or tap it with a hammer and it stayed in place. Been like that for several years now. I thought if I replaced it I would just drop it again. But have learned to be more carful though.

Not going to be covered, but call Festool service.  They will help you get one ordered and Festool prices their parts very reasonable.

I had the misfortune of dropping my ts 55 and breaking the metal dust port.  I was able to take the two cracked pieces that had separated and use some cold weld two-part epoxy to secure them in place.  It's not very pretty but have not had an issue since.  I was impressed with the strength of the epoxy considering that this part of the saw often has the vacuum hose pulling on it.  Hope this helps.

While repairing a cracked dust port is fine, I would warn against a less-than-100% fix on the part of the housing shown at the beginning of this thread since the blade could be openly exposed if the repair fails or it's not repaired at all.

The piece could also come lose during operation and get grabbed by the blade.
