I'm in the need to straight line rip over 200BF of 8/4 ash in prep for building a workbench. Would it be possible to use my TS 55 EQ not on the track, but registered against the opposite/thick side of the track directly on the lumber to utilize the full 2 1/8" cutting capacity to rough straight line rip this lumber. Ash is pretty hard, and I would be at max capacity, so I'm guessing this isn't the best idea, but I thought I'd ask before muscling this stuff across my jointer. I don't have the budget for its big brother, but it may move up the priority list the more I work with thick hardwoods. Thanks.
