Will someone please point me to a thread that explains how to adjust the TS 55 REQ & TS 75 so that they cut the same on the splinter guard of my guide rails? I figured there was something on here but I have been unable to find anything via the search. Thanks.

I just picked up a TS 75 and am trying to calibrate it to the same guide rail as my TS 55 REQ and although the concept and method is pretty straight forword as described in Rick Christopherson supplemental manual.  The execution I am finding is a bit more difficult, in about my 10th iteration of adjusting and its getting better, but I am finding that if I only use the fast fix depth on the TS 75 the blade position is about .025 to .030 in towards the rail than I thought I located it.  I must be flexing the blade a bit but I really don't think i am as it is just kissing the mdf material at the front tooth and has .006 - .007 inches at the back.  (Using two layers of 3/4 mdf glued together).

Has anyone successfully done this ?  And did was there any more of a techinque than what is described in the supplemental manual ?

Thanks in advance.

I made a fixture, all 4 of my TS match perfectly. There a few people I work with often, their saws were set with my fixture. No worries about which or who's rails you grab.

Your baseline saw should be the R, it has the least amount adjustment.

I really like your calibration jig, I did a similar process when I bought my 55.  I used a scrap piece of plastic to ensure both blades were exactly 3 mm from the aluminum edge of the rail, not the splinter guard.  I cut a lot of plastics and because of wear, do not trust that the edge of the guard is where the cut will be.

Thank you for the replies.  That jig would have come in very handy.

After another dozen attempts I finally managed to get the TS75 calibrated to the TS55 REQ.  I ended up having to adjust the TS55REQ in towards the rail 1st.  I pushed the body / blade all the way towards the rail so the was no more adjustment.  Made a reference cut, it was very toed in at this point, but the cut was actually pretty decent.  Using feeler gages I set the front of the blade at .010 inches and the back at .016 inches.

Tightened eveything back up double checking the blade location. Moved the rail over and made a new reference cut.  Set the TS75 on the rail and set the blade so it was touching at the front and .006 clearance at the back.

Made a cut with the TS75 with the rail at the same location, and...

So something moved, this happened several times and seemed to be pretty consantant.  I would set the front of the blade so it was just kissing the material of the reference cut and then when I would do a cut it would remove an addition .020.

So using that I set the front of the blade at .016 and the back at .022 and finally got very close that I could see the TS55REQ was not quite at 90 degrees.

Reset the TS55REQ at 90 degrees and made a new cut.  Then made a cut with the TS75 and they both cut at the same place on the rail.  Luckily since everything moved in all my rails won't need new splinter guard strips.

A tedious process but I am glad its done.

I did the same as Tom , only with a piece of plywood and a spline.
Not as sexy but works.
