TS 55 Splinter guards

I am looking to make my first Track Saw purchase in the next few days and was wondering what the difference is on the two versions of the splinter guards. Can anyone tell me which is best for the Festool TS 55 Metric model 561-556?

I've seen two guards advertised, the model #499-011 which slips into the slot and the other being model #491-473, which has a thumb screw type attachment. Many thanks and I am looking forward to may new saw.

There are two models of saw.

The first part number is for the newer TS 55 R and the second part number is for the older TS 55.

If you're buying your saw new, it will almost certainly be the TS 55 R unless someone has new/old stock.

Yes, [member=11629]GarryMartin[/member] is right. You'll want the 499011 splinterguard. The 491473 is for an older version of the TS 55.
