TS 55R angle problems

i only had mine for a short while before it was sent back for recall and i never had the EQ but i did notice play in the angle with mine as well.

I dont have the saw in front of me so im going by memory but here what i found.  the positive stops are only on the rear of the REQ instead of front and rear of the EQ (this has to with the -1, +47 capabilities)  when setting the angle make sure the base of the saw is flat on a surface and try to move the saw through the bevel range by the rear of the saw (holding the center or closer to the front of the saw allows you to tweak the angle a bit)

not sure if this is a cure all but hopefully it helps

good luck

John

I just for an email off festool and they are giving me a new saw. The saw is on order until the end of the month and I can keep the loaner saw until then. Very very happy with the service I have recieved

Better get mine changed too :D

So, just checked my brand new, not out of the box, completely unused TS55R and it exhibits exactly the same behaviour.

Interestingly, from the factory, presumably set at 0 degrees, the scale reads -1.

So, given Festool are replacing your saw, what confidence do you have that it will not exhibit the same issues as everyone else that has posted the exact same findings?

Seems like something that deserves an official Festool response, as I can't believe that many "faulty" saws would have made it out of the factory, so it must be "as designed" surely?

Did Festool acknowledge there is an issue when offering to replace your saw?

Exactly my point Garry , I reckon they're all like it and you just have to live with it.

could be a subtle little mod that's going to take about a month to come through production?

I thought I would check my track saw

As much as I'd like to think it's by design, there is no mention of it in the manual, so it does need some sort of official clarification if only to know whether 0 is really 0. If we haven't managed to get that yet, perhaps Shane could perform some of his magic and highlight the thread to Festool UK. Shane?

Is that even a TS55R?  [poke]

Do you have a picture of the gauge reading for that same setting?

Even if they are all like that why should we have to live with it? We buy festools for their precision and their price should reflect that. I will wait to give a final verdict when I recieve my new saw

Fingers crossed for you, but not hopeful a replacement will be any different.

Mine the same went to cut a a 30 degree rip the other day and took me 4 times to get the right angel on on the saw.. On the scale it showed me it was 31.5 this is pure bull I after bringing this up a few times all ready but apart from that the saw is grand
