I'm willing to believe that that the TSV does have a heavier cable. It is running two motors after all, but that wasn't the original issue here.
Also, it has been over 15 months, of regular use, and it's fine. That's not even counting that mine is a UK 110v 50Hz model too.

Yup.

My take is FT figured that, by this age, people were using it mainly to convert non-Festool tools ... and they would not be wrong on that. /guilty as charged ../
