On the top or bottom of the workpiece?
Are you using the splinter guard and guide rail, and did you pre-trim it? Which blade do you have fitted, and how old/worn is it?
I have the older version (TS 55 EBQ) and it cuts most melamine without chipping.
You might want to try and sandwich it or tape the edges if it's particularly brittle, but I can't recall having problems getting nice neat chip-free cuts with the standard setup, unless the melamine is poor quality, but there's not a whole lot you can do about that.
