I am curious if Festool would be willing to exchange the rails along with the saws????

They have done well thus far with this issue, but are they willing to go above and beyond?

I have held onto my ts55req because I didn't see any of the options truly beneficial. How many FOGgers, who still have the REQ would exchange it if Festool offered the rail exchange as well?

I sympathize with the guys losing out on the recall but I'd like to see this thread locked.  I don't want to see guys try to put the screws to Festool any more than they already have.

I started to post something but frankly I was going towards the rude side.

For those of you who have a TS55-REQ, Festool USA has concerns about safety issues with that saw.  They are trying to get the saws returned and in advance of approval by government agencies they are doing what they can pending approval of whatever was submitted to the agencies.

You have choices which are well documented here.  The issue is with the saw - not the aluminum rail.  If you have questions and want to try and negotiate with Festool.  Here is a statement previously posted here:

"Festool has notified the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada of a potential problem with the plunge mechanism on some TS 55 REQ Plunge-Cut Track Saws.  While investigation is continuing, Festool, in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), intends to recall affected units. If you have a TS 55 REQ Plunge Cut Track Saw, please discontinue use immediately and call Festool directly at 1-855-784-9727. "

This thread, like so many others regarding this topic is now locked.
