Hi,

I want to get a cordless tracksaw to supplement/replace the TS 55 that I have had for years. What is the story with the batteries? On the FestoolUSA website they only show the saw in a kit with no batteries. It seems like I can't order a saw in a kit with batteries. I am also not clear on what batteries and charger I would need since it looks like I have to purchase that separately.

Thanks

Huh, you're right.  Might be because they've been updating the battery platform recently, and haven't gotten around to the new listing on their website?  Well, the full kit is available on the Toolnut site.  Or just go to any other Festool dealer and buy it through them.

Instead of a price increase, they tweaked the kits to make them seem cheaper at retail.  Simultaneously, dealers can’t sell the new kits until July 1st.  The new kits go from a pair of air cooled 8 amp chargers to one non air cooled 6 amp charger.  I believe they will sell for $130 less.
In the meantime, most dealers have sold through or returned their old stock.

If that's the case I am glad I got mine when I did. My kit came with two AirStream chargers and a pair of AS batteries.

I  guess as you say it lets them lower the entry price point for the TSC55 to be more competitive with other brand saws which much be cutting into their market share.

Thank you to all. I guess they are updating their website and are a little slow because of COVID. I am in no hurry and can wait until July to see the what the new offerings will be.
