TSO TPG-30 vs Festool SYS3 M 137 FS/2-Set

Hi all!

I'm looking into buying a parallel guide in combination with the festool guide rail and TS 55 FEBQ plunge saw.

I was at first looking at the TSO products;
TSO TPG-30 Set
TSO Quick Guide Rail Adapter for TPG Parallel Guide System (Fits Festool Only)
TSO T-track Connector for TPG Parallel Guide System
GRS-16 PE: Parallel Edge Guide Rail Square or the Festool Edge square FS-WA/90°

But now I saw Festool released something similar;
Festool Accessories set SYS3 M 137 FS/2-Set
Festool Verlängerung FS-WA-VL
and/or with the Festool Edge square FS-WA/90°

Did anyone already had the chance to test out this new Festool accessory? If so, how would it compare to the PSO and can it make as precise cuts? Also would the FS-WA angle stop be as usefull and practical as the Edge square FS-WA/90°? (I cut mostly always 90° but it would be nice to have the options for those rare cuts at different angles.) And does the Festool FS-WA-VL ruler also work with the Festool Edge square FS-WA/90°?

No direct experience with the festool version, but having the Triton adjustable one, I can say that the physics of pushing a reference edge at an angle to the track saws' line of motion is a PITA and I'd rather just lay it on the line by eye and cut.  It's doable and workable as evidenced by the FSK rail, but accuracy/trust rates a zero for me when doing large cuts as oppose to construction where it's typically a shorter run.

I don't know which region you are in (UK, EU, US, AU), but I don't believe that the new FS/2 set is available in North America yet, so there wouldn't be any experience with it from anyone in the US or Canadia.

The big difference I see between the FSK rail and the Festool/Triton version shown is that it appears that the FS rail angle adapter only holds the rail on one side.  The FSK rail butts against the material on both edges of the rail, which adds to the off-axis stability and helps reduce unwanted rotation.

Well, not seen the Festool available yet. But I have been on the TSO's 'mail me when available' list since forever and only in March some where available for those who clicked within the hour..? ... so as far as I'm concerned that is a non-existing product... Local reseller says; you can order... but it might definitely be months of waiting...

So comparing the not available to the defacto non-existing; I'd say that the TSO wins. Longer cuts with only one parallel guide; it will just flex too much for my liking. For cutting parallel panels, nothing beats two guides.

Thanks everybody! I didn't know it did not release yet overseas, I'm based in the EU. The pushing of the ruler might be also my concern but there are 2 pins that can hold it in place, I hope it will come in soon to my local Festool supplier to test it hands-on. The FSK rail is great but isn't, as I understood, compatible with the TS 55.

I might give the Festool a try.

Last time I checked they will ship later this month. Shipping in 1-3 weeks from now. Maybe first preorders were already delivered, don't know. Some sellers claim stock + 4 workdays before they ship... so they don't have stock  [tongue]

I might have to revise my worries.... came across this video showing that you can quickly clamp down the angle guide directly (not the rail).  The reference edge extenders are also a nice touch.
