Hi, I’m new to the group, decided to ask a question regarding my track saw. I’m cutting melamine boards with my track saw and on the back side melamine is crushing. Face side has a scoring blade and it always comes out perfectly, but not the back side.
Here is what I did. First I sent to festool to sharpen my fine cut blade, the issue persisted, I bought a new blade. Same fine cut main blade. Got a little better but I still saw some chipping. Then I bought Freud blade - written on the face - 48T thin kerf, plywood, melamine. Same issue. I make sure I have a good support on the bottom and sacrificial board/foam under the melamine board, but that’s is not changing the issue. I tried checking if the blade is perpendicular to the base of the saw and it seems like it’s 90. Cut in different temperatures, in colder and warmer days. Doesn’t matter, same chipping. I’m at a loss what could this be… I’d really appreciate any help, experiences. As far as I know the back side should be okay, usually the face gets damaged and that’s why I have scoring blade, correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks
