Its has to be me. But after watching I still don’t understand how this is supposed work. Guessing someone installing this, probable will.

Anyway, for the noobs, some closeups of what it actually does, might be handy! I do understand it helps for scribing. But thats more the name of jig then the video.

hi buddy, the latest you tube, Instagram and Tik Tok stories and videos may help, plus im always here to help or answer questions dude

thanks Dan

Thansk for the props. This took some figuring for me as well. I watched all your videos and I still stuggled a bit to determine the correct ref point where I was doing the overlay fillers. The flush ones were pretty straight forward. It turned out well in the end. Either way it allowed me to work by myself and/or without the aid of clamps or awkward holding.

yes i agree with all. the long video is good but a short video brief animation of some sort would work best. the main page is where it should be not instagram. the nature of instagram is that either videos don't exist yet or they are being pushed down by the new ones

We all have our own way of doing things, and Im sure we all try to do our best work. If we find a tool or gadget that we think will make our jobs easier, faster or or more accurate, we invest in them. Some gadgets are useful for some but not all. I respect anyone that comes up with a useful idea, and shares it with others. I've discovered over the years that sometimes it's tools, sometimes it's technique. A balance of both
seems to work best. On most of my installs, I'm scribing columns and end  panels to one wall and floor, or 2 walls and floor. Simple compass is the only quick way to do this. Try many techniques and tools, including u-scribe, and decide which works best for you!! Good luck to all, and stay busy!

I agree buddy, birth of the internet was the birth of 1000's of teachers and 1000's of students with access to other peoples techniques, tips and advice, there is some amazing people and products ive seen in just a few years on social media and forums as I rarely looked before u-scribe, but after we thrust ourselves into this industry it is almost a pandoras box of ideas, products methods, tools etc, ive picked up some great tips and advice and some not so good ones, but I pick from what I like and add it too my current methods and processes

its about choice, trying and seeing what works for you

Dan,

This is an encouragement not a criticism. If you want to sell your jig, make a better video that's well under 5 minutes long... 3 perhaps? (many good product videos are 1 minute long or 2 (at the most). Festool videos are a good example.

I must echo threesixright; I lost interest after the first few minutes (and I wasn't going to watch it till the end of 15 minutes). There's no reason why your jig needs a long video to explain its features or how to use it.

I know video making/editing is time-consuming and is a skill different from woodworking. But if you have a good product, you should invest the time it deserves. Get a helper, if necessary when videotaping.

your 100% correct buddy, one reason I made another couple of videos for you tube afterwards, but our focus wasn't directly the polished professional look modern business seems to adapt, sometimes smoke and mirrors and a little BS, I wanted the product to fall into fellow tradesmen tool kits and get them to use the power of social media along side out socials and there skills to show how the product can simplify and help consistency scribing long or small fillers, so we took a back seat on the traditional approach, decided to see people in person at tool fairs and local tool shows and retail open days, but now we feel with the fantastic response and support from the trade we can now add this Short but professional video to our website and you tube to easily explain its use, function and method, the feedback from people like yourself is so important and I thank you, as two tradesmen we knew little or nothing of, patents, Protection, Registrations, copyrights, insurances, social media, LTD, VAT, Injection moulding, designing.....the list goes on we've been at it a couple of years and im an open book, we've learnt as we have gone along, hence the social media being a big part of who we are.

Definitely going to cover all the methods and filler types on you tube and on our webpage in the coming months dude, we've taken a Different approach to getting out there but I understand these videos do need making, cost aside we've been learning on the job each month weve invested all the money into improving, Wether its packaging, the product, branding, website, packing and shipping....this industry is a serious money pit 😂😂😂

I agree buddy, that was very early on in our journey and to be honest we weren't sure if the idea would take off and to be honest we didn't really have a clue what to do, that's me on a job with an old iPhone that wouldn't hold charge for long, ive done a couple more after this, and we used social media as our outlet, I know now as we have become established and shipped to nearly all corners of the globe a short but really well made instructional video will really help grab peoples initial attention and explain exactly what u-scribe jig is for

Try to do some close ups so we can see how the tool works. I kind of have an idea... It would be nice to see a close up of the tool? Don’t orient the camera up and down, shoot with a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio. You could probably find a high school or college kid to do the shooting. Most of these kids grew up with YouTube and have been shooting and editing for 10 years. You really only need a half hour of shooting, possibly 15 minutes if you nail it on the first shot. There’s set up, some discussion, lighting, audio, etc. You don’t need A fancy camera. An iPhone will do, just get the audio in the bag and the footage in the can. You’re done. Good audio is what makes a video good in technical terms, provided nothing else is off. The tool looks nice - - -

I have scribed MILES of fillers and toekick and I dont see the need for this tool. $1.00 General Tool compass and accurate measurement is all that is needed. The key for accuracy for me is to bend the tip  a bit away from the pencil.

and your helper hold the material while you use that compass right ?
thats the right (Helper) foot that’s holding the stock (filler)... Not to be confused with the left foot which you’re standing on?
