UG paint problem

I received my reconditioned Kapex just a couple of days ago.  Today, I stopped in at my closest Festool dealer and picked up the UG set for it.  When i got home, i opened the boxes, the extensions looked great (they're heavier than I would have thought) but the UG stand itself looked TERRIBLE! I didn't even take it out of the box. All of the paint was cracked and falling off.  My question is: do I need to take it back to the dealer (who I believe is now out of stock on the stand) or is there another way of dealing with this?  Thanks

I actually think I recall reading about this in another thread. Maybe an issue with the powder coat process, or whatever they are using for adhering the paint. I would recommend that you go ahead and use it. In the mean time, contact your dealer for a replacement if it's convenient. If not, give our service department a call for assistance.

Ok, thanks Shane. I'll call my dealer tmrw.  Im sure Festool will take care of it one way or another

Wow, very weird. That has to be some bad manufacturing batch. My UG stand is a few years old, no chips or delaminating at all. Follow Shane's sage advice.
