I purchased a Parf Guide Mk II from TSO; and the first time I tried to hook on the dust port to the block the "fingers" on the dust port broke.  I looked at the reviews and this seems to be a pretty common problem with the dust port.

TSO was absolutely fabulous and sent me a replacement immediately - Hans and crew earn the reputation they have for excellent customer service.

My first use of the system was just to cut out some dog holes in the Moxon vise I made for my MFT so that I could clamp items between two dogs.  I want to make a larger table attachment for my STM1800, which will be a bunch more than the 20 or so holes I made in my "vise table" and the MDF dust is sure to be worse than the white oak I originally bored.

Before I try using the new dust port; does anyone have any hints or tips on attaching or detaching to avoid damage?

[member=63643]cpw[/member] - you got my attention with your statement a "known problem" involving the dust collection port of the ParfGuide System - a very popular feature of this product in dealing with the considerable amount of MDF shavings removed in normal operation.

What seems like a "common occurrence" when reported anecdotally, becomes much more difficult to isolate when looking for data on which to base a root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action.

Help us by emailing a picture of the reported failure of the dustport (injection molded beefy plastic part).
