UJK Rail Clips - is it just me??

Retirement age and new tools make for interesting times! :)
I have taken the dive into the rabbit hole of Parfguide MFTs and am having a blast and am quite happy with 0.016 deg accuracy on my first try.

However there is one thing that is driving me nuts. The metal springs on my brand new UJK Rail Clips fall out of the plastic slider every time I even think about moving my track.

Every cut involves a frustrating dance of putting them in and trying to get them back over the bench dogs without them falling off again. Which is a shame because when they are on, they work very well IMHO

Is this an inherent issue with this particular style of clip and I need to get used to it (or change methods)? Or is this unusual behaviour for the clips and I have a dud pair? Looking at how they are designed, I suspect it is the former but I thought I would ask.

I am aware of the Stanton/Millard type of rail clip but I really liked the concept of the "hinge" in the UJK style.

Thanks in advance for any feedback or guidance you might have

Steven

Steven I have 2 sets of those clips and no issues with the springs coming out. Suspect you received lemons.

The good news is Axminster has fabulous customer service, I'd just ping them.

I had the same problem as you Steven with my pair of UJK clips.....oddly,  one was far worse than the other, which struck me as strange coz obviously they both were used as much as each other...!

In the end, I just removed both clips entirely, abraded the mating part of the clip and applied a couple of drops of super glue in the holes and reassembled them......They seem to have held up better ever since.

Having said that, I have now made a pair of the Dave Stanton tapered "clips" and much prefer to use them .......They are far less of a fiddle👍

[member=81913]Stevenski[/member] - thank you for asking:
YES, this is unusual behavior. You labeled it correctly: a dud pair  [sad]

You deserve a prompt replacement set.

Thank you, Hans for your input.
I have reached out to Axminster as you suggested and they have been great and agreed to supply replacements.

I am right in thinking that the spring clip is supposed to rotate in the slider like a hinge, right? It seems to in the videos I have seen on YouTube....

Also thanks to others who shared their experience and advice :thumbsup
