Good Morning

We had a couple of pallets arrive yesterday, with lots of new stuff. Not all our order was shipped, but we got most of what we wanted. We'll be checking it off and listing on our website later. I'll keep you posted.

Best regards

Warren

Next up, the SYS-MFT. Again with video, the heavy lid proving tricky for the one handed operator.

I like the way you get instructions with a box lol

What is picture number 4 saying? I can't quite make it out. Is it suggesting don't cut too deep when using a tracksaw?

Would anyone seriously consider running a tracksaw balancing on a sys1?!!!

Im guessing you  did not see the eastern European festool staff using the early festo chainsaw...(pre Shane edit) [big grin]

yes I saw that!

Actually, thinking about it a bit more, if you had a pair of sys-mfts spaced apart they could work quite well as sawhorses. still a bit of odd picture though.

Okay, with a couple of the supporting cast safely in store, and the phone answered, one of the main attractions enters the building..

You can use it along with a normal sys 1 as a support. It shows this in the instructions.

Warren, are those boxes the same as the multi coloured ones that come in the screw case systainers ?

I was hoping they were the same too - I assumed they would be, but I've just checked on festool.co.uk, and unfortunately it appears they are NOT the same.

Here's the relevant info for replacement boxes:

[attachimg=2]

The coloured boxes are based on a 49x49 grid size. The grey boxes are based on 60x60 grid, and they're also much taller @ 71mm. [sad]

To me, that's a major cock-up. I was seriously thinking of buying one of the new tool boxes, so for smaller jobs I could just grab the coloured boxes I needed out of the sys1 & drop them in the toolbox, rather than taking the entire sys1. Sure, I could still do that, but they wouldn't be secured by the lid.

What happened to the 'system' concept?

Whoops you've dropped a clanger there festool :-[

I thought the same thing, that I could get one and put all the spare coloured ones I have in it.

Not really Festool - more Tanos in this case. Just a  shame there was no consistency between the styles.

Height of both boxes (grey and colored) are the same: 71 mm.
Due to the different grid in the new SYS-SB, they might not fit because the grid ribs are in the way.

From the vid there just seems to be one tray with the boxes in them, is there a version that has all the trays/compartments full of boxes? rather than having to buy extras!
