Hi Ron,
I've already bought and built your Ultimate Miter Stand (amazing design) and have purchased the plans for this work bench as well. One question I wanted to ask you was about its stability and weight. Is the workbench suitable for doing hand planing work? In other words how is the racking when pressure is applied sideways to the benchtop edge(such as when using hand planes, scrapers, etc)?

I really like the plans, and will most likely build it out as you've designed, just wanted to see what your experience has been with this aspect of the bench

Anyone know where I might get some aluminum for the guides (like the sides of the MFT)?
Thinking of throwing that on the ultimate workbench (that I have yet to build)

The profiles are available thru the service department as parts.  

long profile - part # 472863 - cost about $57 US
short profile - part# 472862 - cost about $40 US
