Has anyone had problems (hopefully and a solution) with their EHL 65 cutting considerably deeper on one side than the other? My first job with my new planer is on table legs for extremely figured walnut. I was truly socked at how smoothly it cut with no tearout on this difficult piece. But after two passes I checked the piece for square and it was considerably deeper on the left (looking from the back) than the right. I checked the manual for an adjustment and finding none in the manual or on the machine I removed the knife, checked for burrs (none) cleaned the still-pristine slot, and reassembled the knife.
It was still cutting unevenly. I changed blades but that didn't help. I was using the 90 degree fence so I checked that and it is dead nuts square. Both pattens, front and back, are tight and seem secure. Placing the plane upside down I checked the blade with a straightedge and sure enough the left is much higher than the right.
If there is a quick easy adjustment that I just plain missed, I'm happy to look dumb if someone can point it out to me. As is, the machine is so far off that it is unusable. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
