Unfinished drywall and trim around sliding door

Purchased a cabin that had installed a new sliding door but did not finish around the trim. See attached photo.

How would you go about finishing this? Just looking for easiest option for someone not handy. There were similar issues around the windows but I was able to mud those and turned out great.

That's easy. Glue a piece of square trim with a 1" width or so onto a piece of rounded trim, say 2-3" wide. First cut the square piece to the right width before gluing. The width is the depth to the door frame from the sheetrock. Hope that makes sense.

Craftsman style trim would work well in a cabin.  Very easy to do.  I make up the header in the shop and then just nail it up.  I prefer to use "returns" in place of the simple cutoff because it paints better.

Also, you might want to confirm that the door installation included a "pan".  Leaving that off can lead to serious wood rot.

The sill pan will direct the water away from the sill.  It is cheap and easy to install when putting in the door, but a pain to do afterward.  But still, it is probably worth the effort.  You will have to remove and re-install the door to do so.

Be sure to use jamb extensions before installing the trim.  Whoever did that job originally should be flogged for leaving it like that.
