In the November thread I had posted here I hoped to post updates but that was not possible to do [sad]
so here are some finished installation pics. Please excuse all the dust and gaffer tape residue visible in them this was and is still beyond my control.

Thanks for looking in.
Rob.

OMG, stunning.  Rob, is it a Burl Oak veneer on the panels ?  We're they vac bagged ?

Cheers.

Nice!

Like the mirror image of the handrail onto the walls! different not seen it like that before

Wow, beautiful work...as usual. Looks like the owner appreciates fine wood work.
I love the detail on the stair skirting.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks guys.

Burr oak veneer on panels, originally outsourced the veneering but due to a minor hiccup had to hand veneer one myself, a four way bookmatch on one of the square panels. Weighted down with a dozen or so lead sash weights and some heavy offcuts of iroko etc, Alan

The mirror image was a first for me too, Brett, looks pretty effective...wish I could say the stair was my design  [wink] but the architect got there first  [big grin].

Tim, the owner trained as a carpenter and is now a very wealthy man, this stair is to the attic rooms!!!! [big grin]

Amazing work Rob.

Nice to do a cut string for a change?

How many hours on construction and then on fitting?

Great job
Can't help thinking it would have been better with a continuous handrail and no newels my personal view.

Love the work, Rob!  I also found it quite interesting how the handrail seems "buried" in the wall.  Don't think I've seen that before.
[thumbs up]

Great work, really nice job on the panels. I have to agree I really like the cap/handrail and posts 'buried' in the wall concept. Hopefully I'll get to use that somewhere.

Very nice work - they deserve some much better lighting.

They look several grades of finish higher than the rest of the place that surrounds them !!!

Rob awesome job. The book match is really a wow wow factor!  Thanks for sharing

Did you get to use the zobo bits?

Thanks Kreg, no Zobo bits used on this one but we did get to use several Springbolts, they make joining many handrail joints easier, quicker and smarter than other systems I've used. ( In fact we are using them on another project right now  ;D )
