..::UPDATED::..New Festool C15, C12 and CARVEX

.. Other option is if the Kapex could be attached and fold down (so its on its side more like a trolley so it less likely to fall side to side while wheeling it) making more compact so you can wheel the kapex around  and then carry the supports or maybe still able to carry and wheel!! ...

From the looks of it, that's how it works.

I agree that the stand is an improvement over the current version, this one is designed for the kapex, the previous version was an adaptation of an accesory for the CS saws. This is exactly what I like about it, because I happen to own a CS70 saw, so for me it's part of "the system".
I use my kapex on the floor most of the times, because I usually only need it for a few cuts, that makes setting up the stand more fuss than  the job itself, but when I do use it, I like it. I use the wings with my CS70 more often, mostly for cutting aluminum profiles to length for rooflights.
The new wings look very easy to set up, just one leg that hinges down with an adjustable foot.
Attaching the legs is the annoying part of setting up the current version of the wings, but they need to be so far apart because the support brackets are cantilevered from the profile.
I also have a dewalt stand, which I use in combination with a makita ls1013 for "rougher" work.

From the look of it it also appears that the new extensions do not require the crown stops, that I believe, was necessary for the older rail design. Now I do like the crown stops since they give that clamping option. The new rails do look like they also can clamp onto these extensions but not sure if the extensions can remain on the saw when collapsed. Workheight is listed as 900mm, so roughly 35". A few inches taller than the mft3/kapex.

Other link I found:

http://www.geerdinkbv.nl/producten/festool-kapex-afkort-trekzaag-ks-120-ug-set/?recent

Now wonder when and what that will cost in the US. Euro wise it appears the rails is cheaper compared with the previous design.

The Festool Rotex RO 90 DX circular sanding pad however, is pretty small. 90mm is roughly 3.5".

Now that stand looks nice, any word on a release date ?  I asked my rep about the c15 but he knows nothing about it.  Hes doesn't think we will see it this year  [crying]

This pic from that last link shows that the wings come with a strap to carry them together.

I just received an email from the Dutch shop owner who published the new Festool 2010 machine and parts today.
He was afraid that when Festool Germany found out about his website he will be forced to temporarily remove the new items from his website.

So hurry up if you want to see the new machines. Festool 2010
Copy the pictures before it is to late and place them on the FOG.

Maybe it's just my aging eyeballs, but I'd swear that switch on top of the DX90 was 3-position, not 2-position.  Any idea what the third position is for?

I've been looking at the DX93.   Hmmm...   Looks like another Rotex in my future.

Dan,

You won't regret buying a Deltex 93, even if it doesn't come with a Plug-It cord!!.

I note the new machine is priced at >400 Euros.  If directly translated into US dollars, that's quite a pricey machine.  Festool says it is 4 machines in one, but my Dutch language skills are almost non-existent.  I can discern it is a HD, fine and delta sander but cannot translate the 4th function stated in the brochure linked in Brice's post.

I a person already has other Festool sanders including a Rotex and one with a delta shaped pad, as I do, the main advantage of the new machine being "Four in one" doesn't pull that strongly.  But if you are just tooling up or your business is refinishing stairs, this is likely a very attractive machine.

Dan, it looks like a 3-position to me too. A rotary, random orbit and orbit for the delta pad.

I like the multi-functional aspect of the new RO90. Since I was interested in a DX93, the RO90 might be a very nice replacement.  Hmmm... Decisions, decisions...

The 4 functions of the Rotex RO 90 are: rough sanding (Rotex), fine sanding, delta sanding en polishing

Awhile back, I was considering buying a DTS400 or a DX93 for removing finish from corners and tight spots on my deck.  During my research, it was recommended that I get the DX93 because it was more aggressive than the DTS400.

In comparing the DX93 with the RO90, the DX93 has a 2.5mm stroke while the RO90 looks like it has a 3.0mm stroke.  It looks like the RO90 is the more aggressive of the two and then makes it even more suited for my needs.

My wallet is starting to whine again.  [eek]

Dan.

Does anyone know that the RO90 is coming to North America?

The one thing that really is impressing me about the tools are being released in Europe shortly - and then here hopefully, is the engineering and the new designs and features.

I remember when a new model car came out and all that was different was the front grill, headlights and tail lights.  Not these guys!  I can see some tool awards coming.

Welcome to the FOG DutchMan!  [welcome]

I hope we get the new tools as soon as June or July but I won't be holding my breath.

don't be so sceptic about it guys.
when did the KAPEX arrive in the US? It was  around October 2007 that it arrived here, if you know when it was introduced in US then you can calculate when the new machines come in The States ( I think ).

when i can, i will place the prices in Euro here then you can figure out what the price is gonna be in US Dollars.

( i'm sorry when i'm not clear enough i don't write in English very often. )
