..::UPDATED::..New Festool C15, C12 and CARVEX

Spoke to my dealer today, they are getting the carvex next week to view.  they can then order them.  They havent heard of the c15 though  [crying]  that's the one i want.

Woodguy.

Oh, forgot to say.  when i spoke to them today the owner said they had 3 passes for an annual trip to the Festool factory in Germany in November & 1 of them has my name on it if i want to go  [eek]  If it all works out & i do get to go i will need to get more S.D cards for my camera  [big grin]

My dealer is Highland Industrial Supplies in Inverness, although they have branches all over Scotland.  It was incredibly generous of them, but maybee that is a sign i buy too much from them  [eek]

I just hope it comes off, its still a long way away (i could effectively have another child in that time  [wink])

I hate these threads, but red every one. [scared] We get shown great stuff, get wound up, then told stuff it and wait, it will be over a year maybe more sad].there is something sadistic about this. as for the design cycle, being an ME that does R&D dealing with vastly more complex machines than power tools (aerospace) this just does not fly. I love the tools, and i know i am going to buy (addicted) a lot more, just do not tell me that it takes you longer to bring a drill to  market than it takes us to design, build, launch and monitor a mission to mars.yes we can get it done in under 3 years including waiting for the planets to align. [tongue]...I am just venting...being in the USA there is just an unneeded amount mental pain in getting Festools, let alone being told and show all of the stuff you can not buy.:( Don't bring up UL listing, i have dealt with them and can not think about Festools that i can not buy and UL in the same day. It is as if Festool has a department dedicated on optimizing our suffering, buy teasing various parts of the world with sneak peaks. Knowing that we will find and obsess of the stuff made out of pure unobtainium, and needium [scared].Venting over.

tallgrass,

Just a side note, these tools, the new Festool C15, C12 and CARVEX, are not only NAINA but also NAOM.
(Not Available On Mars)  Just in case you make the trip...  [eek]

i understand how frustrating it must be for you guys living in the u.s. and knowing that a tool will not be available in the u.s.
but surely there are other ways of getting these tools to your doorstep.
i buy products from the u.k, ireland, new zealand and the u.s. all the time. just because it is not available down under does not prevent me from getting what i want.
these tools will be available on ebay.co.uk within a few months and you will have the choice whether you want 240 volt or 110 volt.
you will pay a little more for shipping, but when i need the tool that bad, i bite the bullet and get it.

well, now that our rover is parked and we have scrubbed our man program i have no chance to get Festools. ;D i am also sure if the nav guys in the next building over saw a Festool sale on mars it would have a price tag and there would be inventory.I right now. [eek] Not to get too deep in the weeds but it does seem they they take the R&D to far down the manufacturing road, by the time they get to the quality of a finished product worthy of a public photo release the R&D should be done. it is very costly to make changes to tooling at that point. At that point it should be going into mass production. i would hate to think that the cost of the tools is because they are prototyping way to far into the manufacturing phase of production,,end of venting gain. [embarassed]
I wish i did not love the tools this much. [sad]

does anyone find this bizarre that festool bulgaria have released this info, yet festool germany have not?

regards, justin.

Hi

Having only just joined this group I have noticed that there is some massive frustration on your side of the pond about not being able to get hold of Festool products.
I have spoken with my tool dealer, MTS in Northampton, and he says he does ship to the US, the down side is the cost of shipping for a single item. There is a flat rate of ?75 for up to 30kilos, so it would make sense to order a number of Festool products up to that weight.
If anyone is interested let me know and I will post his details.

Regards

Guy

Hey guy I've used mts in Northampton and I've found them too be ok but they don't stock alot of festool products or accesories I've ordered stuff with them and they tried to put more money onto the products which didn't impress me I've just started using powertoolworld online and they are fantastic

Hi Lee

I have never found that with them, perhaps as I have a trade account with them maybe. I have always found them willing to price match internet prices as well and as they are local they suit me.
I am sure each will have their own favourite supplier but I just posted this thread because I know they will ship to the States and thought it might help the guys out there?

Regards

Guy

I'd guess it's more a matter of them letting the pdf early just like the webpage of the small Rotex Neeleman found on the Dutch website.

Many of the articles about new tools are found on Festool websites other than those of the USA, UK or Germany. For example, first news of the existence of the new Cleantex line of dust extractors was found on the Festool France website over a year ago - see CLEANTEX CT 26 / CT 36... and more. Coming soon in Spring. .
