Shane - When will be be seeing a Centrotec Set here in the States?  You don't have a date listed in your list of stuff coming out in the States.

Thanks!

Yeah, I don't have a date yet. I got an email a few days ago and everything is good to go. We are waiting for an ETA from Germany for production. We had slightly customized the set being offered in Europe to better fit our market here. I don't have a definitive time frame to offer but I'm sure a launch date will be published soon.

Sorry for the delays in getting it. Thanks to everyone who offered their feedback and is patiently awaiting its introduction.

Shane

Any clues what will be included?

Yes.  [big grin]

I suppose you'd like to know, huh? Well, I'll have to obtain the finalized list and will post it. I don't have it at the moment.

In the past, I've had issues with buying "imperial" bits that were manufactured overseas using metric equipment. They weren't quite right.

Hopefully Festool has figured out to correctly produce the imperial sizes?

I'm pretty sure that the finalized version of the set will include the imperial wood drill set. You'll have to get the opinions of members who currently have that set whether they feel it "measures up", pun intended.

Guess I could throw some calipers on a set if necessary. However, I feel confident they are good.

I am really excited for this set. My drills are one tool I use everyday and can't wait to add this to my collection. I just hope I can afford one  [big grin]

If I get one there will be a video of coarse. If your nice I'll let you do a guest appearance.

Ooooo! a stagehand position.  Can't wait to hear, "Here, hold my keys.  Go get me a latte."  [big grin]

Centrotec coming to NAINA land!  [thumbs up] And in a T LOC. CAN'T WAIT!
I've been on a Fes-freeze for a bit, but this will be a guaranteed purchase.
Thanks Shane!

I love my set.  It doesn't get used everyday, but If I need clean and accurate holes - then it comes out.  Put the micrometer on mine:

Size               decimal(rounded)              actual
1/8                 .125                               .125
3/16               .188                               .189
1/4                 .250                               .250
5/16               .313                               .313
3/8                 .375                               .374
7/16               .438                               .439
1/2                 .500                               .501

Like I said, I am happy.

They are indeed as close to "right-on" as you can get.
I did a review a while back.  I love 'em.  http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tool-reviews/review-of-festool-8-piece-drill-set-(imperial)-(496942)/

Only "complaint", and this was a somewhat recent discovery:  individual replacement bits are currently not available.
All of mine are still sharp as heck, and I reserve them for special projects requiring exquisite bore quality.  But still, I like to have backups on hand so I don't run into down time.

phew, I almost purchased them when I got my T15 this past January.  I'm definitely glad I waited.  I can't wait to see the list of goodies that will be included in the set!

When when when!?

I sincerely hope that when this is offered, the component pieces will also become available.  E.g. the handle, the individual replacement bits/sets, trays, the Centro-tec adapter (awesomeness), etc, etc.

Can we get a "Yeaaahhh" ??
