Bare..
Well you make a good point about resale. I hope that is much the case with that little Yates jointer i purchased last month. Tbh that is a big part of the reason i chose it over a comparable newer Jet machine. Plus i just think its a sweet old piece of metal.
Dust collection is also a consideration. Actually dust collection is the so.e reason for me choosing the SawStop over the other options. I am going to great lengths to set up as close a dust free shop as i can. Its rather expensive but i will appreciate when i a, done i am sure as I'm a relentless neat freak!
As for the add ons well i will get the heavy duty mobility kit. $299
The above table dust collection. $199
The dado insert and plate. $69 and $39
And a couple new blades. $150 if i buy there blades?
So like an additional $700 or so. But as as you said i get the 5 horse industrial saw for the less than the new 3 horse professional saw.
All things to consider. The deciding factor is going to be how willing the seller is to have a certified service tech repair and run the saw through in front of me or not and the price. If he is not willing to do that then i am not paying 50% of retail for it. I might however pay 2/3 of retail then hire the service tech myself and purchase the add ons. Reality is for now ill buy just the saw, mobility kit and a new blade...
