Using Kapex UG stands without legs

I am thinking about revamping my Kapex station.  I am going to try a couple of Rockler 'Rock Steady' tables (44" wide x 28" deep), one on each side.  I use the left UG stand now and I really like it.  I am wondering if anyone has used the UG stands, either with legs removed or folded, so the stand just sits on the top of each table, inline with the Kapex.  I think doing that will give me room behind them to put storage or some smaller systainers.  Anyone doing something similar and can point me to a picture or 2 ?
