Ebuwan said:Hey All,
Finally received the Doscornio.
Its very solid. One thing that gave me a frowny face, someone pointed out in this thread like 20 pages ago the MONO 3D price is just for one head mount; It seems this is correct. I'm not that upset, since 99% of the time i'd just use one suction pad anyway.
Shipping: It got to my doorstep in TWO DAYS after being picked up in Germany. Amazing.
It was all packed well, and nothing damaged. I'll have to actually use it and report back, but here are a bunch of pictures. FWIW, i've never used a Vac-Sys, so i couldn't compare it.
This system is all metal, One cool thing (not sure if Vac sys can?) is one of the two plate positions can rotate 360 degrees; not a huge deal for a small workpiece like in my pics, but if you had a big panel it could def be useful.
It is more costly then the Vac-sys, so comments earlier about how much of a bargain the Vac-sys is aint no joke.
Hopefully i can start a fresh post on it after i've used it a bit. One thing i gotta see is if that Vac-sys plate for the MFT will fit this.
Lastly, that little tool thing with the copper blade thingy, is a foil puller they make, for removing protective coatings from metal surfaces; But i found a quick use for it; removing backing from double sided tape.
Brian Livingstone said:Good day,
I just purchased the demo unit of the Vac Sys from my local Festool dealer. I would like to get a couple of smaller heads. What are the most used heads ? I am a cabinetmaker/custom woodworker.
Also, I am assuming Festool treats a marked down item as a regular sale. In other words, the 3 year warranty applies. Anyone have any comment on this.
Thanks.
Brian

Bryston said:I haven't any experience using a vacuum press but had to have one! I purchased an excel five from Joe also. Don't have the unit yet but will get it by Thursday hopefully. So we don't want these to run continuous? We would need an upgrade kit for this?
Ebuwan said:One thing on the Doscornio that i'm curious if the vac sys can do (i've never used a vacsys before); Can you rotate the suction pad while the piece is still vacuum clamped? The Dosconio you can, it's SOOO nice especially with panel that moving with 1 hand isn't very easy.
