Thinking about adding vacuum clamping to my work flow.

Does the dimensions of the head dictate the minimum size of the workpiece? Or does some additional overhang need to be added?

For example in real world working terms if the 200x60 head is on will it hold a 200x60 piece or does the work piece have be slightly bigger than that?

Thanks

Ron

I'd say you need just a little bit extra to make sure the rubber edge doesn't smoosh beyond the work piece. Also if it is exact, it will be difficult to set the piece down exactly at the edges. Maybe not difficult , but more time consuming. I think in general life will be easier on the Vac Sys if the work piece is about 5mm larger all the way around.

For example Ron, the 215 head measures 8 3/8” normally but expands to 8 1/2” when a board and vacuum are added.
