vacum splitter and alternative hose

hey guys wondering if anyone makes a y splitter with a valve/blast gate so that i can run one hose to my hand sander and one hose to my table mounted belt sander?

also is there any cheaper hose options available? The second hose for the belt sander ends up needing an adapter for the large 1 7/8" dust port and only needs to be ~56" long. Since this one won't be moving around i'm thinking i would be fine with a cheaper alternative?

Ridgid has a small hose that goes down to 1 7/8" that they use for their compact vacuums. Easiest and cheapest way at that point of switching hoses is to well...switch hoses. There are some write ups from people building waste gates.

I use the rigid 1 7/8 on my kapex with a HD bought adaptor.

I have set up a simple system using some 2 1/2" clear plastic piping and some blast gates and it has made dust collection with my single CT26 very much easier.


I am sure that the parts needed are available around the world and should not cost very much at all. Since making the video I have added a piece of copper wire twisted around the outside of the piping and connected to the earth on my workshop power supply. I also now use an Ultimate Dust Deputy and my earth wire continues and is also connected to the UDD.

I run all my tools except my planer through this - yes, even my bandsaw and bobbin sander.
