Vacuum Attachment Issue

I bought one of the vacuum accessory kits and Im having an annoying issue where the handle attaches to the hose (wider hose)'

It's a friction fitting..soft rubbery male/female...the junction between handle and hose does not stay on..slips off with the slightest move..very annoying. Anyone else..very poor design.

Yes, I have the same thing. The bendy piece when it connects to the 36 mm hose. I don't find the problem too bad but it is annoying when it comes off now and then. Haven't tried it, but maybe some duct tape on the outside of the hose fitting might work?

I started the duct tape route but man do I hate doing that...it's a sticky road.

Mine comes off all the time..and when i say..all the time-that's what I mean.  :  )    :  (

I thought about a hose clamp but it seems like Festool ought to address the issue..

I have the Tradesman kit (I think) and haven't really played with it, but when I first bought it and brought it home, it seemed that the hose wasn't going to go on.  Haven't messed with it again.  I should do so and see if I can get it to go together and work.

Sounds like a defective part.  I have the same set, and while it does experience some occasional slippage if not fitted all the way, it usually holds together under normal use.

I too have issues with the 36mm hose coming off the end of the tube. I was going to try a single bit of Friction tape between the two mating parts to see if that helped. Funny, we get a really good hose clamp/holder on the Planex and its unique hose, but the vacuum set needs a bit of help.... [embarassed]

Wondering if all of the Vacuum kits have the same type of fitting to attach the vacuum accessories??

Yes, they all have the same type of fitting. Only difference there is, is between the 27 mm and 36 mm hose, where the 27 goes deep inside the bendy piece, and the 36 only a bit. The 27 sticks very good that way, but due to its smaller size is not that good for cleaning. But the 36 has little room to work with, and with the hose sleeve beeing made of rubber makes the fit not that strong.

You could always replace the current sleeve of the hose with a new one. A new one is a lot stiffer so it will hold better.

Any dealer can order part 487721 for you. Or phone Festool directly. Is your kit still within warranty?
