Vecturo - Fein Multimaster Blade Adapter not popping out

So I finally pulled the trigger on the Vecturo as I had to remove grout. Figured am a Festool Junkie; so in the spirit grabbed the Vecturo despite there not being a grout removal blade in the Festool Offering. I got myself a blade adapter and it did the job like a champ.

Now I need to swap the blade out for a Festool blade but the Fein starlock adapter simply won't come off. Has anyone run into a similar issue?

Best....
[unsure]

It has stuck on me before.  I just use a nail or small screwdriver under it with he handle pulled back and it releases.

It does seem to get easier after a while

And now it came off and I put it on again. And now it won't come off.

This is so incredibly frustrating in the field... a BRAND NEW tool .... expensive no less...

Super disappointed... first the drills and now this... the one day I really needed this in the field...

Same problem here. Won't pop out; can I open the tool or will that void warranty?  [mad]

Tried back of blades; tried flat head screwdriver; tried a plier (lightly) won't budge. Won't even rotate. BTW I removed a bunch of grout with the adapter and I had vacuumed the stuff away before I tried to pop things open.

Now sprayed with some WD-40.... I need a pizza and a coffee.

It happens now and then with my supercut, just tap it.
Won’t hurt nothing.
I can find blades everywhere for the MM but not the supercut Fien , so I use the adapter.

Same here; it occasionally "sticks" but in my case a tap has sufficed so far. Even with a ridiculous amount of tapping the blades are locked down rock solid and don't work themselves loose in action. So I stopped worrying about it. Maybe time for a bit of lube though.

Tolerances are very tight on these adapters it seems and after working them in for a while it should end up just "snug".

My Fein is still "very snug" and binds up occasionally even after years of use and abuse and tapping the adapter out from time to time. It cuts like a champ and blades are locked down firmly so I am still happy with the tool. Considering the amount of vibration it has been subjected to I am impressed with the build quality of the Fein. I have the Supercut though I did have a Multimaster too at one time.

I am going to send it in for service; I could see grout embedded in the machine from removing all that grout from the bathroom. Still I was able to get it out previously... I don't want to mess with a brand new tool.

I love the Vecturo.. did not mean to come across as that... it worked fantastically well... it's just that I had this one weekend to get the project done and the tool had a bind...

Hi,

I gather that the adapter is not a Festool product? But  Fein product?  I do not think you will have any luck with Festool service for something that they do not make/ sell.

That's right the adapter is a Fein product. There are actually two available. One for the old-style MM blades and one for the new Fein/Bosch Starlock blades.

Hi,
Had the same problem with mine what I found helps rather than prying it out is to stop the locking handle from going the full 180 degrees and it will then release the tools, may not be the way it should work but it does not require a pry bar or screw driver to release the tools, hope this helps.  Great tool but it did cause a lot of frustration when it did not operate the same way as similar Fein tool I have.
