Vecturo or Supercut

While it may not matter depending on a persons use of the tool, that plunge base is a bit of a game changer. I hadn't realized its full impact until I actually started using it. The obvious is that it helps steady the blade during the cut. But the less obvious (at least to me) is that it allows the tool / blade to be fully aligned to a mark before the blade touches the material. Takes the guess work out of trying to line up the blade with it oscillating , vibrating, and flipping around. Makes a real difference on something that will be visible.

Will the plunge stand fit the new supercut with the new suspension body? As the body is a different shape to the regular body which is similar to the vecturos, this may help in deciding between vecturo and the new supercut which also has the starlock blade fitting.

I actually have the same question.  I'm eyeing the fein AFSC 18 QSL cordless Supercut with the Starlock system.  But I'm curious if the vecturo base will fit or it the starlock system will push the blade out too far from the plunge base magnet.  The cordless fein would be so convenient.

I took [member=1619]SRSemenza[/member] 's comment about the plunge base into account.  It sounds like the Vecturo attachments will fit the Fein 350Q.  My guess is that the SYS-2 makes more sense than a SYS-1 if you are toting all of the attachments.  The SYS-2 Combi would probably be great for that setup.

I went ahead and ordered the $300 set (best price/availability was through Toolnut).  It was about $130 more than the basic tool, but the dust collection attachment, extra sanding pads, extra blades, and SYS-1 would cost a lot more than the difference in price.  If I decide to get the Vecturo accessories, I'll get a SYS-2 for it, and I won't feel bad about having an extra Systainer floating around.
