Vecturo Starlock

Here are the two blades I ordered (part number for 3pk):

63502201270 3-1/16" Length, 1-1/4" Width, SLM Mount E-Cut Long-Life Saw Blade, Pack of 3 pcs
63502203270 3-1/16" Length, 1-5/8" Width, SLM Mount E-Cut Long-Life Saw Blade, Pack of 3 pcs

When I ordered from an online supplier, they shipped directly from Fein, so at least we know they exist in the U.S.  You should be able to order them from your preferred Fein dealer.  They should also have singles and ten packs, I believe.

Thanks!  Harry

Perfect, thanks!

Just a question regarding the mod. Is it possible to offset the plunge attachment plate if acquiring blades with a different offset or is the shimming height "fixed" for some reason?

You're welcome.

I shimmed just enough to get the Festool plunge base to clear the SuperCut body.  You might (not sure) be able to shim less, but then you wouldn't be able to rotate the Festool plunge base to the desired angle.

Thanks, Harry

I just received the adapter and some starlock blades yesterday. I was initially thinking that the adapter would allow me to quickly add the blades to my supercut, but the adapter just allows me to use the starlock blades, so no real improvement. Is there actually a benefit of using the starlock blades over the supercut blades?

Thanks,

Daniel

[member=13588]Runhard[/member], Starlock is just a newly designed chuck style from a joint effort between Bosch and Fein. The concept is to make changing blades much quicker and easier than the previous designs with a latch. Beyond that, there's probably not a huge difference in the design or capability.

This pretty much sums it up...

Yes, just adding the adapter to my supercut (non starlock) doesn't give me the benefit of the quick blade change. So the adapter to my supercut has no real benefit.

I am using the new starlock blades. There is no difference from using the supercut with supercut blades. I still have to use the locking lever to attach the starlock blades even when using the new starlock adapter.

Runhard, you are correct, the only thing the adapter does is allow you to use the Starlock blades with your non-Starlock Supercut or Vecturo.  It does not add the quick change capability.
