All silliness aside I'd be a good candidate because I do a lot of models and miniature sets for films and commercials and the Jointmaker seems to be perfect for that. Is it?
Obviously Monte deserves a lot of points for bringing the Jointmaker to our attention and the piece he's shown is beautiful. If he can explain how the Jointmaker would help him make those crescent cutouts he's got my vote right now! Oops, silly again.
But, what do Bill and Jerry say? Bill would be a great choice and Jerry is the ideal choice from John Economaki's point of view.

Those crescents look like a punch of some kind was used. Really cool!
I just do not see the value of Jerry doing this from the FOG standpoint . Jerry has his own site and has been reviewing stuff for years. I think this is a FOG project and I love Jerry and have used his site for years, but in this case I just do not think he is the fair pick. Lets make this a thing where inexperienced reviewers can step up to the plate. More companies may see this and make offers and I think more FOG members should participate. I think monte getting a chance would really make lurkers think about becoming a member. Hey, if a guy with 93 posts can get in and do this we are a welcoming forum and I think that also goes a long way to bring in new members.
Of course Bill Wyko does great work, but IMHO saving Bridge City money should not be a requirement. The offer was transportation and I am sure it benefits Bridge City more than the cost of the ticket and hotel. Its all business expenses its not like a personal guy taking his own money to pay. A business expense is going to get written off as part as the project development and probably is in their budget already or he would not have offered it up.
If this gets Bridge city into the FOG the search engine(it will and has) results are going to bring them a lot of exposure and will be well worth it(because of monte).
Another point is why does a person have to have a current need to be the right pick? When I get a new tool new processes come about from the tool and the work changes because of it. I can tell you right now on certain inlays where I have 1500 pieces that measure 1/4" by 1/2" this tool should be a great help, but as of now I am still not exactly sure of the exact process I would use on this new tool. So I do not need it, but I can use it. And after I get it I will find many more uses for it.
As you can see I am really pushing for monte for several reasons. In summary:
1) It is his thread
2) He does do small work
3) He is willing and I sense a huge desire
4) He is a type of FOGGER that may bring in more new memberships. If for no other fact that we are getting out of only choosing the big posters with tons of pictures. A lot of guys see forums as a 10 person power play and do not want a to get involved because of that. This will change those thoughts in people on the fence about becoming a member. New members want to feel like they are in the community right away, I think this pick helps that.
5) Now this is MY opinion, it does not have to be anyone else's. I literally would feel guilty to take this from Monte, that is why I want nothing to do with it. If I started a thread and this got away from me I do not think I would feel that great about it. To me Bridge City should of just offered it up to monte as he is the one saying he is buying it no matter what, started the thread and is really excited about this and is the one that got the idea into the FOG bringing in Bridge city. We all have at the very least to thank monte for that. Which I know you have already done Michael.

Actually, being interested in the Jointmaker, and being super-impressed with Jerry's work (no pun intended), it is his woodworking experience and great writing that would be most helpful to me. Not trying to take anything away from others. But for a tool (that's a little pricey) review, that experience is what will move me to buy.

I am looking at it from a totally different view. I am looking at this from a participation in the forum stand point.
I think monte can do the review justice, have you seen monte's work, superb. A lot of guys want to see a regular unknown person make the tool work. Jerry can do great work with a butter knife, we already know that. How will a guy with less experience use the tool. Most guys buying are not skilled like Jerry and I like to see the point of view from someone that does not do reviews for a living.
Jerry has said a lot of good things about tools I have had trouble with so he is great, but not infallible. I guess my point is Jerry may be is to experienced, we could use some new blood!

Thanks for the compliments and the confidence several here have expressed. This sort of public opt-in thing is difficult for me as there are many, many truly fine craftsmen represented on this forum. It really is up to John to determine what he is after and who, among those available, he thinks can best deliver what he needs within the time and financial constraints that fit his business. I'm close and can fit the short timing in with my production schedule and have sent a PM to John.

This project was a China Cabinet I designed and built for a client to fit within a Provincial Tuscan motif.
I photographed the unit outside before installation because it was to be installed in a niche in a narrow hallway,
where I would not have been able to backup enough to photograph it.
Design Notes,
Materials are birch with a aged patina finish over a milk paint base.
Below the recessed cutting board are two tubular steel pullouts used for supports.
At the time of the photographs I had not yet recieved the special order antique glass panels.
The piece is designed as two stacked units after installation that fit flush to the front.
(you don't see the sides)
Just below the top is a hammered steel inset with a rust like patina.

The following photos are of developmental models I made for the design & engineering for the Ark Cabinet project.
The original concept was to actually have been in glass and then shifted to the bent laminated/domino,
Acacia/Koa design seen in the earlier photos above.
The first photo below is of three of the models together to the concept model in front, that it was ultimately built upon.
The three photos below are of model that I made to investigate a geared opening mechanism, which I
didn't use. It did steer me closer to the ultmate design though.
This is one of those concepts that I would like to go back to on a future project.

Thank you guys very much for considering me in this wonderful opportunity. I have a small shop so my projects are, for the most part, small. When did you plan on this taking place? I would be honored to be the chosen one. Right now though, my father had a very extensive spinal surgury and needs my assistance daily. In addition I'll be gone from the 29th to the 7th. After that I'd be available a couple weeks later. Once again, thanks for even considering me. I'll still be thinking of ways to put this tool to unique uses.

This was my latest fireplace project.
My intention here was that after the prepwork on the wall, that the entire project be modular in design.
There are essentially 5 parts here, the two columns, the top crown piece, the hearth base unit and the cast concrete hearth.
(I'll be getting into far greater detail on this project after it moves over to the projects section)
Based on a template I cast the concrete hearth in the studio after having installed the other four units.
I needed the cast insert to be a perfect fit against the three angles. (no caulking)
The materials are vertical grain rift oak (solid and veneer) ....with a tung oil finish
Sheet aluminum (the viles pads came in handy here.....more on this later)
Hardy Board (behind the aluminum)
Cast concrete.
......and a supporting cast of support woods & ply.
The first pic is the model for the project. (I changed the wood to a lighter species after the model)
The rest a self explanatory.
