Video of New T12 Systainer/Insert

I was just searching online for info on the new Sys2 insert that now comes with the T & C series drills, and found this video that was only uploaded yesterday:



Shows details of the additional storage, which is what I was after. If anyone could advise the part number for the insert and the foam lid I'd be very grateful - I've been looking to swap my T12 from the classic sys1 to a T-loc sys2 for a while now, and this one would be perfect!

I don't think i would bother with going up to a sys 2 just to get 2 or 3 plastic boxes inside.  If you are putting your old drill into it the charger wont fit as it is slimmer now, is it not ?

Best belt clip on the market!!!!!!  You know he hasn't used the belt clip on a proper job.  Otherwise he wouldn't be coming out with a silly stament like that.

I'm struggling to why festool made a 12v drill.

Their 12v 15v 18v to me hardly have any differences in size shape and weight.

Reasons you buy lower voltage drill is normally price but also a smaller and much lighter drill.

Thing is with the festool drills they are all same size and the weights vary a little so the only main reason you would buy a lower voltage festool drill would be cost.    Which to me seems pointless.

Funnily enough, I was going to mention that too - It seems that the T12 is now only available in the GG version (one battery, no charger, no systainer). None of the plus or set versions are listed on festool.co.uk anymore.

I only bought the T12 because I got a really good deal on it - it was the old version without the light, just after the newer version wit the light came out. I could not have afforded to buy the T15 at the time.

Re the belt clip comment - I haven't seen that, I skipped over the bits about the drill as it was details on the systainer insert I was after.

You might not bother, but I would. My T12 is in a classic sys1, and there is no room for anything extra. I'd like to put all my centrotec drill bits in with it.

As for the charger, you are right, the newer one is smaller. That's immaterial to me, as I keep the charger wall-mounted in the workshop. The space for the new charger would be perfect for the centrotec forstner bit set, as I think they're the same footprint.

Maybe they should have the option to change the tloc for the attic lid style,  makes more sense to me for your drill bits.  Imho .

P.s. a drawer in the bottom of the systainer would be great . Like this only neater.

I had the chance to use a c12 for a day, in tandem with my CXS. 

Quite frankly I don't see why Festool are still making the c12.  The extra power over the CXS was basically unnoticeable.  On a side note, I personally didn't find the ergonomics of the C12 nearly as comfortable as either the CXS or T-Drills.

And Back On Topic . . . I would rather my drills came with a Sys 1 than a 2

I have this systainer for the T18, The space below the boxes is perfect for the DD-DC depth stop chuck. However the battery placed in the center of the systainer is touching the rubber grip of the drill. This has caused some marks in the grip due to vibrations during transport. I bought my T18 directly from Germany, when I recieved the drill at home there was some big marks after beeing transported.

I like the the t12, and c12 over the cxs for a few reasons
-bigger capacity 1/2 chuck
-run the batteries on syslite, or on any other drill in a jam
-you can use the eccentric chuck
-right angle chuck is beef
-longer run time
