I've got a couple of ideas about the contest.

I kind of like the idea of  allowing people to enter as many times as they like. So a minimum entry fee of say $5 or $10. Each dollar gets you one Domino entered into the drawing, each additional dollar gets another Domino with no limit to how many entries you can have. This might build up a nice surplus of money, that money could be rolled over to to cover shipping on the next used tool give away. Of course that assumes this whole this works out. I'll be happy to give the next used tool away.

Another idea is to only keep the entry open until shipping is covered, this way little or no excess money is collected.

I will also want to participate in the lottery once everything gets fully ironed out.  I certainly do hope that Nick will be able to deduct any credit card fees that he accumulates in the transactions - that is only fair.  I personally feel that excess monies - if any - go towards the Forum.  That is why we are here and certainly the monies at this point could help out.  Perhaps the next time - if there is a next time - it could go into a pool for other purposes.

Just my thoughts.

It would be fun if the Dominator could be reused and the draw presented at Youtube or similar.

Henrik,
I would be more than happy to put the dominator back in action!!!!! It is lonely collecting dust at the moment.
And now we know how to make the movie for you tube with out having to rotate it. (thanks again forest)
Just get me a list of names and I'll start writing them on dominos for the drawing if that's what you want to do.

Daniel_N: if you would be the lyckliga hunden (lucky dog) then there is Coffee included in the win.

Win or no win, coffee would be nice, I rarely meet any people to discuss tools with outside internet forums. I know I have seen you at the swedish forum, www.byggahus.se. As you might have noticed over there, one guy (calling himself Cheesus) lost his house in a fire, and some people from the forum are giving him a hand (a small hand, but still) to build a new one. The house is in Dalarna (quite close to Stockholm), and the next time I go up there I will try to stop by Stockholm to pay you a visit:)

Is someone up for collecting checks and money orders.

It is so simple for me to track payments through Google. One click and I have a list and all the addresses etc and it is impossible for me to lose the money etc.

My Daughter will also let me use her paypal so if paypal is easier for some let me know and I will message you her email address.

I say anyone who doesn't want to use your system is out, why make special accommodations for 1-2 people?  Get on board with the program!!!  Credit cards are protected against unauthorized activity, sign up, pay $10 and you're done!  Guess that's just too easy.

Nick, I just entered my payment on your Walco site.  I have to say, Google account sure is simple and fast compared to paypal.  When I clicked on the link my google email came right up with passowrd and two clicks and I was done and even had a link to cancel the order after it was made.  Much nicer than Paypal.

wnagle,  I'd be very interested to know, when you get your credit card statement, if they treated the transaction like any other credit card transaction....or like on Paypal, where your CC company treats it like a "cash advance", compounding a daily 18% interest.  Please let me know.

I used a master card debit card that debits my checking account, so I shouldn't have any interest charges.

Nick,  Good of you to volunteer to collect the money.  I didn't know Google did something similar to Paypal until now.  Question,  if the buyer uses a credit card for payment,  will be be charged a higher interest rate like they do for a "cash advance"?  I know I got stuck this way using a cc thru Paypal.  I quickly made the switch to a debit card.  Just curious.

I have no clue at all. I actually never purchased though google(until a festool purchase). Google checkout is quite popular and acetoolonline.com uses it and many regular stores use it now too.

I never had a complaint on it yet and unlike paypal they do not go haphazardly taking money out of people bank account and do not hold the money for months like paypal can.

The only drawback I see that I never realized until today is that to use the google checkout you need to sign up for a google account(its not like paypal where you have to give bank info or anything like that). I have had google so long I was a member and did not even know it until I went to get a Festool from  ACE awhile back.  I just put in my email and I was already signed up. I guess if anyone has google mail, Gmail or anything like that they are already in the Google system.

If people do not want to use it I guess they can mail payment to the address at the link below, though using google makes it awfully simple for me to track everything.

I was thinking a page like this would work:

Walko Bench

Click the buy now and test it when you get a chance please.

Nick

I have put in my 10 USD on your account now.

Hi, thank you Henrik for the generous offer, and thanks Nick for arranging it. I typically don't win anything but I thought it would be fun to do this, I am in in as well.

Bijesh

It looks like at least 9(90.00) people have signed up already for the Walko at my last look. If I join in it will make it ten. I do not know if I should participate or not, if the dominator is used I think maybe I can.

For the person from IL sorry, it looks like they added .40 or so in tax, I really can not help that since you  are in my state. I will refund it to you.

To the person in Sweden the credit card info did not take, Google will contact you for further verification.

If this all falls through and does not work out no worries it take about a sec for me to hit a return button to refund money.

I do not want to exclude anyone so if you must send a money order or check just use the address on my website, the link in the previous post will bring you there, no need to actually purchase, just copy the address.

Last note, I made a separate page from my web site for the Walko payment page. You really can not get directly to my site from it,  but my site title is on the page. I did not want to make this an advertising thing.

Thanks to the guys that did go to my web site and compliment me on it, thanks!

Nick

Nick, I'd think it would be fair if you got in. The Dominator will pick the winner. Thanks again for helping with this.

Henrik

What an awesome idea.

If their is anything I can do to help out with the raffle please let me know. Perhaps I can collect Frank's check ;)

Fine with me. I am in Canada though so people in the US would need to send the check with an international stamp.

If they are making out a check or Money Order it should be made out to "Clermont's Ultimate Tool Supply" and please  put Walko Workbench Lottery or Lottery in the Memo area.

Please keep everything in US Funds.
