WALKO WORKBENCH ever heard of it? how about it compared to MFT/3???

I have one, I like it for the most part.  It is very different than the MFT.  There are tons of threads about it.  It is a supplement for the MFT, not a replacement.

In the US they were going for somewhere between $525 and $650 or so.  One company cleared them out for half price.  For half price they are worth it.  Closer to retail they are not, in my opinion.

I have the 3 version, and not the Professional.  I use it as a mobile work bench for cutting, sanding, etc.  Ideally, you would have 2 MFT's and a Walko bench.  Two MFT's would work well for cutting longer portions of sheet goods.

There were some threads about the bamboo tops separating when wet.  You may wish to investigate this further.

I think they are gone from the US.  Woodcraft clearanced the last of them right around the time Festool Junkie quit selling the line and returned a bunch of them across the pond.

They are live and kicking down under ... but over $1K ... still, it's a similar price to the MFT/3.

The days of excessive markup could be numbered for people in Oz ... Online commerce is causing a lot of questions to be asked of local importers and distributors  [big grin]

I have a Walko 3 and really like it.  Purchased it from Woodcraft when they were closing them out.  The Walko 3 top is the same height as a MFT/3 when it is in the highest setting, which makes it great as a secondary support on long pieces.  The adjustability of the individual tables plus the ability to fold flat for panel sawing make it a nice complement to the MFT/3 with features it won't do.

I should note that if you find one, you'll want to take the tops off and route the bottoms with a round over bit so the Festool clamps will easily fit through the holes.

Sorry they are no longer available in the US - the were pricey at full retail but a bargain at 1/2 price closeout!

The Walko is still available in the US.  I got a quote about a month ago from an online dealer.  Really pricey....

The dealer was www.acetoolonline.com and I had to call for a quote.
