I decided to take advantage of one of Timmy C.'s pimped out bundles and ordered the Kapex/Sawhelper from him. I received the Sawhelper yesterday, a CT 33 to go along with it and a picture of the Kapex. For that kind of money I thought I would receive the real Kapex but got some kind of gibberish about July 1. ;) :D ;D

Unfortunately could not get to the Sawhelper or the CT 33 yesterday but by mid afternoon I was feverishly tearing boxes apart and telling the little woman, kids and dogs not to get near me unless they had coffee or a wrench.  ;D I had asked Timmy to send me the brackets for my LS1013 until the Kapex actually arrived and after assemblying the left and right arms and attaching my saw the the table top, I finally got down to drilling the holes in my Makita so that I could attach the sub brackets and the other half of the coupler plate.

Where I stand now is the sub brackets on both sides are in as well as the other half of the couple bracket as well as the right arm. Tomorrow I will level and square the right side up, attach the left side and square and level it. So far I can say that this is one amazing piece of equipment and I can't wait to see how it works first in conjunction with the CT 33 and my Makita and then with the Kapex.

I bought the Sawhelper Ultrafence U88 which will give me 8 feet from the blade on each side. I also bought the Crown Stop kit and I must say so far I am very, very impressed. It is very much in line with Festool quality. I can also see that after the somewhat tedious and enjoyable initial setup I can see just how easy this is going to be to setup and breakdown.

Except for that tiny picture of the Kapex that Timmy C. is the DUDE!!!!!  :) ;) ;D Fred

Maybe you should send Timmy C. a picture of your money. Make him drool while he waits too.  :D  :D

Hi,

This sounds like that Dennys ad. With Paulie Walnuts paying for breakfast with fake money. "Thats not real money."    "Well thats not a real breakfast"  :D

Uhm, uhhh...  Fred, I hate to point this out, but you are in violation of the FOG No Pic rules.

Section 4.771, Subsection b-1, Paragraph 27 clearly states that premature gloats - especially about Sawhelper stands - MUST be accompanied by pics to prove the aforementioned claims.  Violation of these rules may result in the confiscation of said Sawhelper by duly authorized FOG enforcement officials (AKA "me").  In other words...

fred, you will love the sawhelper,  I have had mone for about 6 years and it is easy to set up when you use it.  for the kpex it will even be easier.  the brackets just clamp on to the kpex no need to drill holes into the saw base.

enjoy.  the wings you got at 8 feet are the best size. it supports 16' pieces so you can cut end off etc. :)

The Sawhelper Kapex Setup will sure be enviable to any contractor (homeowner too) out there that see's it.  I have the 88-s on my 716 and the combo works really good.  The only thing that bothers me right now Is that I have to keep clearing dust off my saw base and extensions.  Hopefully this won't be such an issue with the Kapex.  I still haven't found the ideal storage spot in my trailer for the 88's and stand.  I wouldn't want to do with anything shorter than the 88's.  Great purchase, I'm sure you'll be very happy.

Chris...

WOW, I really like the idea of sending Timmy C. a picture of money EXCEPT I already sent him the real stuff for both. :( :) ;) Steve, thank you for the wonderful idea.  8) Seth, you crack me up.  ;)

Dan, I promise to have pictures up later today when I have both arms/wings up and running. Will that do to fulfill my FOGin picture requirement???? 8) :o

Honeydokreg and Chris, I can't tell you how excited I am to have the 88 and just can't wait to see what happens when the Kapex arrives.  :) My business partner and I are going to be installing a very large job in Philadelphia in three or four weeks and my 88 and LS1013 will be very busily working away.  :) :D ;D Fred

PS I want to thank Tom Gensmer sp? for his help and guidance on the purchase of this and of course Timmy C.

Wow Fred, thank you very much, I just like to think I'm sharing info :) Hopefully these pics will help assuage the desire for pictoral representation, until such a time as you get a chance to post some of your own  8)

Tom,

it shows that you know what you are doing and are aware of others people property.  LOOK at the picture of the saw set up on the deck.... what do you notice?

rubber pads under the legs of the stand to protect the deck from getting scratched...... great job, others take notice.  how many carpenters would even think of doing that?

Hi there, thanks for noticing! The feet on the Sawhelper do have plastic caps, But on a brand new Tigerwood deck I didn't want to take any chances  ;) I was out of pads when I took the interior pic at the bottom, but since then I have bought another pile to take with for that job. It's an old Victorian house with hardwood floors that are in pretty rough shape, and will all be refinished upon my completion of the window seats and radiator covers, but I want to be careful nonetheless. The pads are really neat, they're available from Costco. I have some personal pads, and the company I work for buys them by the pallet direct from the manufacturer, they're VERY handy and I strongly recommend them to anybody doing remodeling work. Thank you for your positive observations Honeydokreg, it's nice that others notice the little things  ;D
