While I was away, my wife decided to vacuum her car using the Festool vac I keep in the garage. When I returned, she told me she had only gotten a small part of the car cleaned she said the vacuum stopped picking up stuff even though it was still running and then it just went dead.
A quick examination revealed an obstruction in the nozzle end of the hose. It was the screw off top of a water bottle. It was a perfect fit!
The bottle top caused the lack of suction and the motor protection worked perfectly to save the motor.
I tell this story only to alert Festool Vac owners that those pesky little bottle tops can mess up your expensive dust collector.
