Website/Domain issue

My website has been hosted by http://www.bludomain.com for approximately three years.  Frankly I don't use it much or update it that often - I do more with Houzz and FB.  However, I use the email account attached to it daily. On Tuesday of the this week I tried to open my email and couldn't.  I then tried to open my website and was directed to a page saying that the domain had expired.  I sent an email to Bludomain.com asking for help.  They don't have a number to call (a huge red flag now that I know that) and they request a window of 36 hours to address the issue.  I waited the 36 hours and no response so I fired off another message pleading for help so I could get my site back up.  In the meantime I googled them and found a litany of complaints.  They have an F in CO with the BBB and I read a lot of complaints regarding the very situation I'm in.  From what I've determined my domain registration expired because they didn't send me an invoice or bill stating it was due.  Now I can't get ahold of them so I'm dead in the water.  I think I can repurchase the domain through another provider but I don't think that will get my site back up or get me access to my email.  Is that correct?

UPDATE:  It appears you have solved your issue with your Flash-based website and domain registration with WildWestDomains.  I see that you re-registered your domain name as of TODAY, and your site (very nice by the way...) is up and running.

I also see that the registrant for your domain name was BlueDomain. You need to insure that YOU, and ONLY YOU  own the domain name.  There are hosting companies that "register" your domain name with them as the registrant, and "allow" you to use your own domain name. When you want to move to a different host, they can refuse to release your domain name. It's how they lock you into THEIR hosting plan.  Here's the latest WHOIS for your domain:

Domain Name: AGAPEWOODDESIGN.COM
Registrar URL: http://www.wildwestdomains.com
Registrant Name: Aundrea Hasselbach
Registrant Organization: BluDomain
Name Server: DNS24397.DIZINC.COM
Name Server: DNS24398.DIZINC.COM
DNSSEC: unsigned

Information Updated: Sat, 24 Jan 2015 14:07:57 UTC

Here's the 'other' info which is suspiciously akin to what I spoke of earlier regarding ownership of the domain name....

Registrar Info
Name WILD WEST DOMAINS, LLC
Whois Server whois.wildwestdomains.com
Referral URL http://www.wildwestdomains.com
Status clientDeleteProhibited, clientRenewProhibited, clientTransferProhibited, clientUpdateProhibited
Important Dates
Expires On January 20, 2016
Registered On January 20, 2010
Updated On January 24, 2015

Good luck,

Frank

Has the hosting or the domain registration expired? Without the domain name we can't check.

I was going to write this, but it'll turn into a slanging match about who has or has not experienced a nightmare support scenario with the scripted robots GoDaddy call staff.

Personally I would not recommend GoDaddy for your hosting, but then I am in the UK and their issues with support are far too numerous to mention here.

If you're only using email, host it with a freebie email hosting company - there are loads.

Wuffles,

See my UPDATE in my original response. The domain has been re-registered, but with client restrictions in place. Hate it when I see people getting caught up in that trap.

Cheers,

Frank

His website is back up.  You can see it by clicking on the link in his signature.  I imagine that he will be posting an update later.

Russell,

You haven't confused that with BlueHost by chance? http://www.bluehost.com

Do NOT use GoDaddy. No one with a modicum of sense would recommend using their services. Their domain registrations are overpriced, their shared servers are overstuffed with websites, and their web tools are among the absolute worst in the industry. My clients that have their sites hosted with them are easily the slowest sites consistently that I work with.

Couple that with their support for SOPA and their disgusting sexism, and I'd encourage you to run, and not walk, from their services.

I have very simple needs.  I happen to use that hosting company that starts with "G" and have been happy for numerous years.

Personally, I don't think you should have your domain name and you website with the same provider

I have used Go Daddy for several years - as my DOMAIN REGISTRAR, and has worked out great.  I think their pricing for domain names is great, and their control panel is easy to work with

My host on the other hand has changed over the years.  I started out using BlueHost and found out that they "throttle" cpu usage after my website started having problems.  (I believe BlueHost, HostMonster and HostGator are all owned by the same company and share the same practices)

Yeah what John said.

I use Namecheap for a registrar, they fully support the EFF, which is our last bastion of hope in this world of corporate lobbying from Comcast/Verizon/etc trying to bring down net neutrality.

For hosts, I wholeheartedly recommend Dathorn Internet Svcs, they are first class. Average ticket response time in
