Well, I pulled the trigger today on the MFT/3 and TS 55 - Thanks to advice from FOG menbers.  The dealer swapped out the 42 rail with the MFT/3 for a 55 so now I have 2 -55's with connectors. Aside from clamps and clamping elements, what are recommendations for must have accessories  fotr the saw and MFT? - Dogs? - My first TS. (I already have a CT).

Depends on your upcoming projects.

If your breaking down sheet goods the Parallel Guide set is a must.

Can you either post or PM what dealer sold you the swapped rail as I am trying to buy identical set up and 3 have told me no so far. I a doing mail order so location isn't an issue

I'm in Canada - so I don't think that would work for you. I think ione of the issues is that the MFT/3 rail is actually packaged in the MFT/3 box, not separately so they would have to open it up, remove and replace it and maybe mail order dealers don't like doing that.

Congrats on the new purchase!  I would recommend the MFT Cross members http://www.festoolusa.com/products/mft-multifunction-tables/accessories/cross-members-495502.html;.  The QWAS dogs are great too.  For the TS, the Parallel Guides are a must, not only for sheet goods -- I use mine all the time for processing solid lumber too.  I would pick up a couple of extra blades too for different material -- the stock blade is good for most things, though.  If you change blades, then more of the splinter guards are nice -- they come in a 5-pack and you can label each one for the specific blade you use.

I also suggest adding a Boom Arm at some point or the suction hose holder - http://www.festoolusa.com/products/dust-extractors/organization-storage/suction-hose-holder-487072.html - this will help you keep the hose and cord organized and at the same level as the MFT -- aids sanding, sawing and routing operations.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. i thought the QWAS dogs for sure. I'll see how things go without the parallell guides although they would obviously be useful, particularly for repeating cuts. most of my use is not in shop and requires fairly quick set up and take down, so likely will not consider the boom arm. For sure I need a rip blade. I'm guessing the 28 tooth is a good compromise - the Panther may be too aggressive

I think ether of the online dealers Tom or BOB will swap out rails you could also try ToolNut.

Definitely the Boom arm, I waited a year or so and when i did get it, i could not believe the easier working environment - should have bought it much earlier
