Thanks that clears it up. I have a feeling Festool Products will have a lot of angry PDC customer's on there hands, being there description lists the depth stop with the drill.
Sure, it's included. For an extra $100.
A lot to do about nothing. Marketing mistakes happen. Any tool purchase I make I check out the "included" items listed with the product on one/any of the vendors sites, I wouldn't even consider looking at the main Festool marketing page for contents included. I am interested in the PDC drill, and the vendor sites I checked last night, unaware of this post, clearly (to me) indicated the depth chuck was an optional item. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure a $100 chuck isn't included within the price of the product. Most people on this forum should be aware of the pricing of Festool products and what typically makes up that price. The depth chuck in the U.S. has always been an optional item. You guys praise Festool in one breathe, and berate them in the next.
Go look at your tool photos within the lid of your systainers. The photos will show additional items that go with the tool, but aren't included with the purchase. Should Festool remove the optional items from that photo too? Where is a lawyer when you need one? Geez......
I am not a rocket scientist but I do know how to read, please that a look at the picture in this post of a screen shot of Festool Products website.
It clearly says "includes the optional depth stop and right angle chuck". Then when you go to technical spec it says it again.
So next time please look at the site in question and get informed. It was a good question!!!
Tyler, not so fast, read but comprehend. I stated above "Any tool purchase I make
I check out the "included" items listed with the product on one/any of the vendors sites, I wouldn't even consider looking at the main Festool marketing page for contents included." So, to clarify, I would not and do not go to the Festool USA site to determine what might be included within a certain tool package.
I also stated "I am interested in the PDC drill, and the vendor sites I checked last night, unaware of this post, clearly (to me) indicated the depth chuck was an optional item." I did not check the Tool Nut / Festool Products site.
I also said mistakes happen. One in which Brent has now stated has been corrected. Doesn't matter either if one or many took a screen shot of the Festool page before the mistake was corrected, there is always a disclaimer in the event a mistake is made in advertising, etc....
This would have been some really GOOD pricing for the PDC drill and bits and bobs had it included the depth chuck, really too good to be true.... Hopefully, no one thinks they are now entitled to a free chuck due to a marketing mistake. sigh.
