What Festool Did You buy Today?

I picked up the FS-HSK sanding block in the harder version.  It’s the least expensive festool I’ll ever buy lol

I got the Centrotech bit set came today. It will go along with the longer bit holder and the manual driver handle that I got a week or so ago.
It seems the attachement is zero-size.

Did you get an actuall full Centrotec shaft driver, so it can accept the angle chuck etc., or the newer "direct" Centrotec holder ?

I am by now thinking of making a handle for the BA-CE Drill Adaptor so can use the angle and excentric chucks with it. Cannot seem to find the "shaft+chuck" handle anywhere.  [sad]

I had to buy an old, used (but well taken care of) 1/4" ratchet set CE to get the "full Centrotec driver" that accepts the centrotec chuck, right-angle, etc.  They're rare as hen's teeth now that FUSA stopped importing them (and/or Festool as a whole stopped making them).

I also have one of each of the other newer Centrotec-ish drivers.  Each one has a plus and minus depending on the task for which I am using it.

The thing I was surprised by is the holding mechanism. It has a really strong magnet and apparently some kind of ball/spring to hold the groove, but it doesn't actually contact the round area that is the "stabilizing" part of the Centrotech chuck.

Is this the driver you guys are talking about 495228?

No, that's the one that holds an actual Centrotech chuck.
The one I got is like this

Here's the three I have.

[attachimg=1]

From top to bottom:

Centrotec handle from an OG 1/4 CE RA Set 37 (in a Classic Mini Systainer)

Centrotec handle from Sys-CE 2015 USA (in a T-Loc Sys I)

Separate handle that I keep under the insert in a SYS-CE MINI 1 TL TRA

As I mentioned, each has it's pluses:  The OG handle will accept Centrotec chucks, even those that are completely ludicrous like a full-size Jacob's chuck from a T-18, but also the super-handy right-angle chuck from the CXS/TXS sets

The handle from the Sys-CE 2015 USA set is the most solid, leasy-wobbly fit when inserting the long screwdriver blades

The newer Wera-handled driver is a bit wobbly, but solidly held and it fits nicely under the insert in the SYS-CE MINI tray, so it makes a handy travel companion.

I actually like the 1/4" ratchet set for all sorts of purposes, especially the hex bit inserts.

So is my assumption correct that your OG and my 495228 handle are the same thing?

That would be a correct assumption/assessment.  I should have taken the chuck off for the picture.

It's always nice when two apparently unconnected posts connect. I recently posted about this build in the 'Member Projects' section;
https://www.festoolownersgroup.com/member-projects/gothic-victorian-break-front-kitchen-dresser/

So I delivered it and installed it yesterday to a super-happy customer, and gave her the invoice. It was a big-ticket item as you'll imagine, and she'd paid me online by the time I got home. So to celebrate, I decided to mark the occasion with a rather fine Turner Road 2014 Reserve Merlot from your fine Californian countrymen. It went down very well indeed. Very, very well.

So well, in fact, that I pulled the trigger and pre-ordered a TS60 as I drained the final glass  [big grin]

Expected delivery is the last week in October/first week in November. Really looking forward to it. I now just have to figure out what to do with my faithful TS55 and 20 blades ......

Always nice to celebrate the successful delivery of a job with a new tool :)

TPC18/4 basic
centrotec 3.5mm countersink bit
centrotec 5mm bit (replacing a lost one from my set)
EHL65 blade.

My two new Festool Systainer XXL 337's came today so now my drywall tools and my tile tools will have a non-cardboard home.

I spent hours looking for my tile tools a couple of weeks ago and eventually found them in the basement in a box labelled "Barbie clothes and accessories." Since my daughters are all married and have houses of their own, I'm sure this was a pretty old box. It was labelled "Tile Tools" on the side of the box facing the wall.

I've been on a bit of a roll lately. Just picked up the new 1010 router and the FS/2 set.

Not today, but I forgot to post:

Replacement rearleg for cs70 and hoseclip

The hoseclip that attaches the 27 mm part of the dustcollection to the side of the table broke, since I needed to order a replacement, I got the revised rear legset I had on my wishlist aswell. I had the previous version of the wheelset, but it didn't run smoothly, the new legs have the wheels integrated, and a complete legset has a lower price than the old wheelset. I don't really find the stabilisers usefull, but they aren't in the way if you keep them folded up either.
