What Festool Did You buy Today?

Scored a 27mm & 36mm festool hose on kijiji today, new in the box for $225cad
I also bought the parallel guide for my 1400 yesterday and rigged it up as a circle cutter as well, $6 knob is all it took!

In the last 2 weeks I have bought a TX18+3, CXS and picking up a OF1400 on Saturday. Missed out on a AU$500 Domino with Starter kit  :(. Just saving up for the TS55!! Cant wait

My dad always said if you were going to a bear, be a grizzly!  ;D  So I got the mother of all grizzly bear routers today - the venerable OF2200.  Holy cow is this a beast! It's as smooth as silk, too.  Have a bit to learn coming from an OF1400 but looking forward to it.  I'll get the accessory kit in a few weeks.  I appreciate that it came in a sys4 instead of a sys5 so I didn't even have to rearrange my sysport to make it fit.  I put a round over bit in it and tried it without using the chip catcher accessory and with the dust guard down and hooked up using a 27mm hose, there was no appreciable dust.  Pretty amazing!  I have a 36mm hose I can put on the boom arm so I'm going to try that.

Pre ordered the new Sysrock DAB+ radio yesterday from Toolfest.

Wife "you've already got a radio"
Me "yeah but this one has Festool written on it"  [big grin]

Got myself a sys light duo

That baby is so bright I wasn't expecting it .nearly blinded myself I didn't get the tripod and am having trouble positioning it so it doesn't shine in my face

Any ideas on positioning if you have one

Also got a sys tb1 and a tb2 to try and tidy up some decorating tools. And I will use the tb1 as task specific box for small jobs indoors. Hopefully try and cut down on the trips up and down the garden

The 5th and final accessory for my OF1010, the dust extraction hood. Cant upload a pic for some reason. I love this router but the accessory configuration is infuriating. They may as well start selling thumbscrews and springs as seperate accessories.

Stop reading now if u dont like anti-festool rants.

Edge guide, dust shroud, and fine adjuster are all seperate pieces... what the heck is that?? And the edge guide ad shows the dust shroud attached in the pic, which by the way, does not have a dust port. Its just a deflector that forces you to attach the hose to the router pointing in the worst possible direction, which is forced by the asymmetry of the edge guide. The brilliant engineers at festool should take some queues from the mediocre minds at Dewalt who have designed a simpler, sturdier, and much more effective edge guide for their plunge router which has a dust port and FAR better fine adjuster built right in.

Sorry for the negativity i know people get tired of the rants, but this tool is very useful for me so ive been forced to dive head first into the accessory trap. And it aggravates me knowing that these weasels have intentionally designed things to force you to buy more, putting functionality a distant second to profit.

Personally not bothered by your self-described rant.  One thing that lead me to purchase a FESTOOL router years ago were the accessories that frankly weren't available on other manufacturers' products.  I made the decision years ago to only buy accessories that I need, but that approach did come with the risk that sometime in the future the need might not meet up with availability.

Was at my local dealer today to get a Systainer for 5 inch disks and the OF1400 table extension base and I looked up and saw a package of MFS 2000 profiles on the top shelf. Inquired about discounting since they were discontinued and after the dealer checked with Festool, I am a happy owner of the long profiles...that completes my MFS set and something I have been wanting to add but not hopeful since they are discontinued. Very happy to have found this set.  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

A new hkc 55eb 18v saw complete with track, can't wait to use it in work tomorrow !! I got it from D & M tools.

Been viewing for a while now, finally joining. Went 25th birthday shopping with the $100 my mom gave me at Lee Valley. $100 didn't go too far. Left with a Domino, tenon set with systainer, TS55 track saw, 55" LR32 rail, 75" rail, mft/3, DTS 400 sander and a CT midi. Planning on adding a OF 1400 with LR32 system and a Rotex 125 shortly.
