Got myself a sys light duo

That baby is so bright I wasn't expecting it .nearly blinded myself I didn't get the tripod and am having trouble positioning it so it doesn't shine in my face

Any ideas on positioning if you have one

Also got a sys tb1 and a tb2 to try and tidy up some decorating tools. And I will use the tb1 as task specific box for small jobs indoors. Hopefully try and cut down on the trips up and down the garden

Mick

I haven't got one, but as it uses a standard tripod mount, just get a half decent photography tripod and maybe even a used 3 way head? That way you can set it up and position it to suit, plus with the use of a 3 way head you will have a quick release plate so will be easy to remove/ refit the duo for transport etc. :)

While not today as axminster are closed. Friday i purchased the KS60/ UG stand/ wings, Long life bag for the CTM26 i purchased the previous saturday. Oh and a mini sys 1 for all my clamps/ accessories for my home made mft.  [big grin]

The Syslite Duo does not have a standard tripod mount. It's mounting receptacle looks like a scaled down PA speaker to stand mount. I have used a boom arm on a tripod and hung the Syslite Duo with some rope, worked fine and I could vary the angle...

I bought the Syslite Duo and then made a 9mm acrylic base that attaches to the lite and drilled and threaded an attachment hole in the center so that I could use it an a standard elevator photo tripod and can be used on my builders tripod with an adaptor.

It has been I while since I bought festool stuff, but needing the soft interface pads some more sandpaper for the RO 90 I decided to finalise some things I had in my basket from a UK dealer, a set of MFS VB 1000 profiles, larger size series of bushings for the OF 1010 27,30,40mm. 50pcs 60 grit Granat for RO 90, an additional guide rail connector  for joining the MFS profiles, length wise, and a couple of the connecting threaded insert pieces so If I need to replace a damaged connector or if I need to turn 2 MFS profiles into a T square. Kind of a nuts and bolts shopping list but it solves some issues and lacks I had in my present setup. Now I'll be able to easily put together 2 meter long MFS templates for one.

Yesterday I received my FS2700 guide rail from Bunny's Bolts as recommended by Turnamere in another thread. All lovely and shiny and no join in the middle. Happy days.

Bunny's Bolts were out of stock when I ordered, but Wendlingen to Woking to Wells in a week, can't grumble.

I ordered the MFS sled from Toolnut, now have all size extrusions and sled.

I guess the MFS sled is the best solution when using the MFS as it doesn't take away any depth capacity for sled work, so I probably need to get one as well.. Hope it works out for you..

I just purchased my new Festool fidget Cube. I chose the cordless model for $99.00 on special pre-order deal with Systainer. I'm hoping to purchase the accessories for only $75.00. It has a three year guarantee and provide nothing more than fidgeting functionality. These will go fast.

I used my MFS sled the other day to hog out the center of pattern for mirrors that I'm making for my daughter the jewelry designer.  A long ,long, long time ago I made a batch of 10-12 mirrors using a small cast iron fry pan as a pattern for the wood framed mirrors.  Being young and subscribing to the try it and then fix it method of design, I decided to use my drill press and a 1/2" milling cutter to hog out the center.  Being young and still having decent reflex's I ended up with 4 perfect curved slits in my left thumb as the bit grabbed and I jerked.  Meanwhile, back to the present, I thought since I had just bought the MFS slide, I'll use that to hog out the middle.  I had already used the MFS to make the circular pattern...and Mikey likes!  The problem with the slide is that it can only set for one length.  How to limit the length of router sliding??  I use Magswitch magnets for lots of uses...not the ones marketed to woodworkers, the heavy duty, pull your truck ones.  I have 200's and 400's that you can hang off the ceiling with...I used the 400 set to stop the router and had no worries of it shifting.  Love my MFS', sorry for those that did not get the chance to experiment with it.

It sounds like you won the lotto - twice!

First Festool, first post, Domino 500 with accessories and domino kit on order. Even with the potential 10% discount, was not willing to buy a dust extractor with it, just too expensive for my needs as a hobbiest doing woodworking in my 14x28 foot shed at home. I have most other tools I want/need, other than a good router table, so I'm hoping I don't get sucked down the festool path as I'm not sure I can afford to go too far.  Took me a while to finally pull the trigger on the Domino, hope I use it a lot and enjoy it.

Yeah - that's how I started as well.  Then I realized that you have to use some kind of dust extractor with it.  My old Festool mini was too inconvenient, so I ended up getting a CT 36 for the tool actuated switch onboard.

[welcome] to the FOG and enjoy your new tools! Even if it's not a Festool vac, make sure that you do use some type of dust extraction when using the Domino. It helps cool the bit and pull debris out of the mortices.
